Yeah, I should try using a flamer... I'm guessing one blast from the flamer will kill them, provided it has a long enough duration effect, yes?
But I've also found that I can, not having mastered a combat profession, get combat xp faster by taking regular Baz Nitch and Mutant Baz Nitch missions.I get 3500 - 3800 combat xp per GBN kill, but I get 3400 - 3800 per BN, or MBN kill. And with lower HAM and lower resists, it's faster for me to kill off a lair.
Taking GBN missions I need 4 missions to cap.
If I take2 GBN and 2 BN mission I still cap.
I'll try taking 4 BN missions tonight to see if I still cap, but I bet it's faster, simply because of the 10% resists and 5-6K HAm as opposed to the 25% resist and 6-7K HAM of GBN's
I'm still on a quest to play smarter, not harder/longer.

i cap UNARMED and COMBAT once per buff session, and that equates to 60k of FS xp. I have about 100 buff sessions left. But I'm switching over to the wussy grind (nades; I know, I know...), so that should cut my time down a bit. I can pull off at least 4 buff sessions per weekend, so thats almost 12 buff sessions, 720000 FS xp. That's not even one branch filled to the 3rd box, poo.
Here's hoping the nades make a dent.

If you go at least Commando3xxx, they definitely will. As for me, I've got all my combat/reflex fs xp banked and only one box of Senses done, since i'm using doc to grind 2 branches of senses, i've got... 284 caps to do in 3 weeks LOL

Dont really know how many left for me...too lazy to count heh. Got 3 boxes left, melee accuarcy 3 and 4 and melee speed 4. Done it all without grenades. Just plain old rifles and combat xp
P.S-->I did try c12's on giant baznitches, but sooooooooo....boring. Good thing about rifles is strafe 2 everything in sight

I got all my fsxp banked to unlock. I just need to do the ranged defense quest this time around to unlock. I also banked enough fsxp to unlock melee accuracy the next time phase 3 comes around. Then 1 line in senses . . .dong the kill/rez approach . . i say i'm about 12 hours away from being done!
As for the nade grind . . .what a true relief to be done that. I have actually been able to take some time to just have fun going to places like the Death Watch Bunker and the Corvette over the past few days. Not having to worry about grinding to unlock anymore . . .such a nice relief.

What is a cap??
A cap is when you reach the maximum allowed XP number per type.
For example, Combat XP caps at 300k, and you can't gain anymore unless you train or convert it.

What i ment by using a flamer is that if you just hold it, it will increase you xp gain or it did with me, they are strong as well so any runing GBN can be picked of as it does around 2000-3000 damage a shot with overcharge shot 2.
And if you are getting the same amount of xp from the other Baz nitchs then i might try them as well
Wha was your skill in flame throwers...? I'm just 4/0/0/0 and don't have any points to go up the flame branch. I can see the XP increase happen if you're skilled with one weapon in an elite combat profession, but only being a novice commando I doubt it'll increase. I'll give it a shot though.

anybody know approx how many nades i'll need to finish off 5 branches?? or just 1, and i'll do the math after, haha (X 5).
LOL, i think i did a calculation for this in another thread by I forget where... I believe it took 1372 Imp dets for me to do 1 branch with Commando4xxx. I think that 2 branches cost me about2-3 million credits for crates of Imp/thermo dets, armor replacements, buffs, food/drink, etc but it all depends on your server...

1 branch = 1225000 force xp. 100k per cap = 12,25 caps.
I use 5 sets of nades per lair, and 5 lairs to cap = 25 sets of grenades = 1 crate per cap.
= 306,25 set of grenades per branch (=1531,25 tosses)
Therefore 1 branch is 12,25 crates, and with a price of 90k per crate, = 1102500 creds per branch..
On the otherhand.. I think my lack of mathematics skills really lead my far away from the correct answer..
It seems wrong, since Ive only been using 3 mill creds on all 6 branches... And Ill never believe Ive used that many grenades.. The hours lost..
Anyway.. Im done, and have surrendered my commando skills, never to put another grenade in my inventory...
So.. Think Im gonna grind something useless till next phase and the cu.. Perhaps droidengineer...
