I admit i think it sucks and there should be a quicker way. Double XP week will help alot though =]
A) there should NOT be a quicker way. The grind is just that, a grind. It should NOT be easy, it should NOT be quick. You should be required to devote a lot of time b/c that's the way it is....
B) Double XP is not a good thing....
You're just saying that becase your already done with it. This grinding requires hours of devoting yourself to senseless slageter (mispelled, brownie point to who spells it right), which is not jedi-like.

The "Grind" is designed to make it a challenge for anyone who wants to put forth the effort to go to Jedi. It was not designed to be a task completeable by the common Joe. Casual gamers will take longer than Power gamers *FACT* There is no timeframe on when you must unlock. The old man never said "You must unlock within 3 months or else."
The village systemis designed to "weed out" those who do not want to grind, because that is what you will be doing now and after. YOU make the choice to go down the path to Jedi. If you dont like the village procedures and grind set forth, make the decision and don't do it. But if you want to be a Jedi, then suck it up and get back in game.
*note I am a casual gamer and I slowly got myself through the village pre CUnot in 15 - 18 weeks like most, but 25 weeks. But I still got there. 1 Cap a play session, sometimes more on the weekends.

As for the double XP, I feel what we had was needed to recover from the "getting used to the" CU. As if the CU never came, I reckon my progression in game would have been further. Thats why it was introduced after the CU, to get people used to the CU, as it was such a comedown afterwards, and trying to grind to begin with in the first few days was a nightmare, barely made any dent in my progression at all, and gave up on it at times too, although now have gotten used to the CU and probably doing about the same as before CU (but only if in a group)
The other 2 double XPs happened because
1) There was a problem, and the servers were out of action longer than they planned. These instances for double XP are worthwhile, as it helps you progress to the same level in the same real life timeframe, if these server probelms didn't happen.
2) It was the 2 year anniversary present, which I have to admit, wasn't exactly wise, although I didn't grumble, as was wishing I got to grips with the CU when double XP was about, and finally got my wish! Still, would have been better to have had something, more memorable. Doubt people will remember getting double XP for the 2nd Anniversary gift. Wonder if for the 3rd year anniversary gift we'll get triple XP, and the 4th year gift quadruple! ![]()
