Lightsabers are now considered energy and they will have an additional elemental damage type based on the color of the crystal you used.

So yes color crystals are going to be usefull, most likely the crystals that we get from the village will be rare and powerful.

Cool? Have you all forgotten just what a lightsaber is and what meant to a Jedi? Yes I am very much aware of the fact that Jedi really did not exist in this time era, but despite that fact SWG is still very much set into the Star Wars universe, thus the reason most of it play it.

I don't know about you, but I seem to have forgotten when (as another poster sated) "Yoda's saber sizzled with Acid damage, or the crackling from Luke's and Vader’s frost vs. heat saber duel" from Ep. 5. This is total BS, As much as SOE wishes this was WoW for the large amount of profits, this however is not World of Star Wars. It is SWG! Jedi did not go swinging around elemental enchanted based sabers. Hell why don't they throw in some Force powers call "Fire bolt" and "Ice Nova" while there at it? Maybe get a nice "Force Golem" in there too!

Another thing when I get Jedi I do not wish to constantly be changing light sabers during battle. I also don’t remember Obi, or Mace having their whole battle wall assortment of sabers. A light saber was unique to a Jedi and his prize possession. Much like the sword was considered a samurais soul. Luke Used and still is using his saber from Ep. 6 in the books. Corran Horn when crafting his saber practically put his very essence into it. Only do they replacement when there completely destroyed. Although a Jedi does have their set of sabers of Staff and Single SOE has made attempts to make a saber more meaningful by making it so the handle does not decay only the crystals. I want people to recognize me and affiliate my saber and color with me, not what ever crystal or saber I am using at the time because I like 6 or more in my backpack!

It would be cool if we got a crystal like the one in KOTOR 2. It is bonded to you and as you grow in the force it to grows stronger and changes. The color could be based on what skills you get, in what order and your FR.
