Yes, 800k does seem to be a bit of an over-estimate.
I have, no lie, done 600k in a buff though. Using Thermals, double-visiting, not bothering with the last 5 baz, you can make 6 caps in a buff session.
8 caps though? I can't see how that's possible unless the nades do A LOT more damage than the 2800 max ones i use.
Even without any nading, the village round-trip is at least 15 minutes, so that's two hours gone just travelling.......

This is what i mean:
When you first turn up at the lair and attack it there are 5 which will aggro you.
As those 5 die, another 5 will take their place.
After those are all dead, you would have to attack the lair for a while to get the last 5 to spawn. I find this takes a while so i never bother wit them.
The basic plan is:
1) get 2 lairs in the same direction
2) kill the 10 baz at lair A
3) bike to lair B and kill those 10
4) bike to lair A and kill the next 10
5) bike to lair B and kill those 10
6) bike back to the outpost, aborting both missions
7) get 2 more missions to the east or south east.
8) kill the 10 at lair C
9) kill the 10 at lair D
10) you should now have capped with 300k combat, so bike to the village and convert.
11) on the way back, kill the 10 at lair C
12) kill the 10 at lair D
13) Goto 6)
It is not cheap - you get no mission payouts.
It is not a great deal of fun, you don't get to relax really.
It is bloody fast though, and my philosophy is spend one buff session doing this and then you can spend the rest of your online time that week doing fun things.

For you who have tried:
How large is the difference between grinding with C12 grandes at novice marksman, compared to having commando 4000 and doing it with imperial or thermal detonators?

Huge.
Not only do puped thermals have about three times the damage as puped C12s, they also have AP2, so they do a hell of a lot more damage to bazes than C12s.
I remember when i was using c12s i would be throwing about 8-10 lots of 5 nades per 10 baz.
I was dubious as to whether it would be worth going to commando 4xxx, but i did (which is very quick to do when you can get combat XP from c12s), and i was amazed at how much quicker it was.
2 lots of 5 nades can kill a whole lair, and as nades are so slow to throw, this makes a big difference.
It makes the difference between making 2-3 caps a buff and 5-6 caps. This means half the time spent on boring nade grinding.
Yes, thermals are 4 times the price of c12s, but then you use a quarter as many of them.

Well, i did my first tree with c12's. i then decided to switch to try out the commando nades. and wow, was i impressed by the difference. I couldn't believe how much faster it was and easier.
I recommend this route for any casual players out there, it gets you the same amount of xp in a third of the time, thus if you only have an hour a night to play, you can get a nice 200k fs xp in that hour, compared to c12's which would give you 100k fs xp due to the length of time it takes to cap out.
Way way better and a must for any casual players. Everyone i've recommended it to has really been pleased with the results it yields.
