Thread: Ok, grinding has to go

I am sure I am not the first to post this topic, and definitely wont be the last. The unlock quests, and the village, even the stupid 3 week between phases rule are tolerable. Having to grind millions of xp on the same old boring Bol/Piket missions is just downright stupid.
How is this supposed to:
A- Keep people interested in SWG.
B- Attract new players.
I know not everyone grinds, and not everyone wants a Jedi character. But the 98% that do, have to achieve it with this excruciating process.
There HAS TO be a better way. I really dont know what could be done, but the unlocks should have some kind of trials to do after the unlock, and not something as lame as "goto point A and kill 25 Snorbals". Cmon, SOE, dont you have better imagination then that?
The very fact that you are rebel explains everything!Good day sir!

(constantly being changed and updated by the devs)

A lot of people are already complaining that SWG turned into JediGalaxies. Imagine the moans and rants if they devoted yet more time to updated the Jedi path and on top of that devoted a portion of the dev team to constantly updated and changing the system to keep it fun for the jedi.
I'd love it if they could do something like what you suggested, but I doubt they can spare the man hours or hire on a dedicated team to handle a project of that scope.
Of course, none of that is news to you as you said you doubt it'd ever happen. Just addin my 2 creds.
EDITED because I screwed up the quote.

Ever wonder how many dewbacks and worts Luke had to grind on before he met Obi Wan? Good thing he got all his FS xp outta the way before he was ready to unlock.
It's either that or he had a long career... of changing careers... over his short lifespan. Maybe the real reason that guy in the cantina was so upset with Luke was because he'd seen his floor show back when Luke was a master dancer...or because he gave him a bad make over during his brief stint as a master ID'er.
Seriously...the village quests and phases are great, but the grind is an immersion killer. After so many thousands of confirmed kills I'd think any jedi would turn to the dark side if only because of all the blood on his hands. A man can't kill so many innocent living things and not end up changed. Are we building jedi here or are we training ultra elite bol exterminators? The village was a great start, but the end should have led you to ahidden jedi master and hundreds of paddy quests meant to teach a jedi the ways of the jedi/sith and not the ways of a mass murdering bol serial killer.
What, exactly, about going "click-click-click" is hard? It isn't -- you say this yourself by saying it is too easy as it is. That's right -- because grinding is just mouse clicks. If you had to actually think, plan, use some tactics, solve some brain-teasers, balance Dark and Light sides in terms of which quests you do, and other things that go beyond "click-click-click", that would be a lot more challenging to most of us...
I mean imagine that... more fun AND more challenge. What's not to like? What, exactly, about going "click-click-click" is hard? It isn't -- you say this yourself by saying it is too easy as it is. my problem is that the noobs get it drilled into their head to get jedi, not playing the game 1st, the other thing is if we are gonna stay with a badge system, make it so all the damn noob badges dont count, they play the game for a day and they prob already feel a strong connection in the force
i hate it too. in my guild, noob with 50 days, already 2 branches unlocked and does the nade grind. he doesnt even know if his template is good yet he just says it is cause other people say so. he doesnt know anything about the game.
and click cliking isnt hard at all just mindlessly boring
It's true.. Grindingblows and no one wants to do it. Including the Jedi that did it before you.
AND THAT IS THE POINT!!! Getting Jedi should be a process that makes you ask yourself "Is this worth it"?? For those that say yes...they get Jedi...for those who say no (change it) it proves that you really dont want it that bad....... Think about it.
If the "path" was fun what would be the "work". Who wouldnt want to do some really cool missions with a reward of a light saber?
BTW: I'm as casual a player as you get. I just unlocked. Some say that the grind is just beginning..I say "Bring it On"

And honestly if you feel this FS grind is dumb and mindnumbing, trust me you have no idea and should rethink your wanting to be a Jedi. The Jedi grind, although much easier now, is much more numbing than the FS. (7.5 FS compared to 30+Mil Jedi exp) Not to mention the occasional BH visit that will knock you back some. You gain around 6k per kill now plus combat exp you can cash in, as a Jedi you would gain 600-1200 exp on that same kill based off your trained boxes. Both grinds were not made to be easily attained. They are also your choice to do. If it is too much for you, stop doing the village and do other things. If a Jedi is what you want to become, stop the complaining and just realize that this is what needs to be done, and do it.
Just read it too.
I'm all for a good grind but ......shhhhhhhhiznit!!! This is crazy.
Its like the Emperor just tightenedhis grip on the force (Xp's) and said...NO MORE!!!
And you hated the grind before?
