I hope that is a spelling error! I believe that people are not flaming they are just sick and tired of hearing otherpeople consistantly moan, like put out teenagers being asked to tidy their rooms
"if you want be a jedi buy kotor or jedi academy"
They are making a valid comment on some peoples gaming attitudes tbh, that if you see Jedi as the end goal then go and play a Jedi game, where as SWG is a muti player game and for some its about Jedi (look at me, look at me, see who I can pound and lord it over) others its about role playing the Jedi, meanwhile we have a large amount of players who enjoy the interaction with others and PvP, PvE and generally have great time playing alongside friends. I play alongside a great guild, we have fun. We adapt to the changes. That is why I enjoy the game so much.
- they are so stupid - like a bantha...
Oh and theBantha (if they did exist) live in desert, with no help, let me drop you in the middle of the desert and see how 'stupid' you are.
.
But saying 'go play kotor if you want jedi' is pointless. It's stupid and rediculous. Jedi is a profession in this game, and people want to play it. If some bug suddenly prevented you from becoming noviceRifleman, everyone would be up in arms, and I could say"If you want to shoot rifles, go play CS." If there was a merchant or crafter bug, I could say "Go play Lemonade Tycoon." It's the same principle. People are overreacting and getting to uptight about this bug, but it is a valid concern, and saying 'go play something else' is definently NOT the way to handle it. It's stupid to tell someone to go play a different game if you want to be a Jedi.

You can bet your last dollar, yen, ruble, mark, etc that if a bug were to prevent SoE from billing our credit cards, it would have been repaired within hours of it being discovered. Do bugs that affect the customer base no deserve the same quickness of action? We are paying customers and expect to be able to accomplish the goals we have set for ourselves in the game. One ofSony's big selling points of SWG is that you can "be a jedi". In my opinion they are now false advertising. In fact you cannot become a jedi at this point if you are a new customer or have not had your visit from the old man.
Sony can delete this if they like, this is their messageboard. I plan on giving them until the end of the week to repair the bug that has prevented those of us who wish to progress toward becoming a Jedi. I will then place a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and contest thier charges on my credit card, based on false advertising.
I know that the cash earned from my accounts (5 SWG, 4 EQ, 2 EQ2) will not be missed, and I am sure I will get a few flames with a "don't let the door hit you in the ass" attitude. If the customer base lets a gaming company do anything they want with no serious complaints, then the companies will continue to do exactly that. It is in the hands of the paying customer to stand up and say "That is it, I am taking no more". With that, I will end my little rant with one final thought.
Sony, please be upfront with your customers. I personally want to stay a paying customer, but I will not pay for something I am not getting.....that being simply Customer Service

Well frickin' said. I'm sure you will receive flames to the effect of 'Jedi shouldn't even be in game, good riddence to ya, noob,' but you are quite right in that, you are paying for a service and not receiving that service.
What sort of dev team makes its players feel as though there is some sort of conspiracy going on behind the scenes.
I really hope you do take this up with the BBB, should no response come within that time frame.
Hey folks, I'm sorry I don't have time to read all the comments here but I thought I would post my situation in case it helps shed light on the problem.
I have been glowey for about 2 weeks or so and (like everyone else) it now says I am strong with the force but the old man still shows up. He was following me around before this bug showed up and he still does; he is my stalker ![]()
CSR-AnnaT:Our Quality Assurance Team is aware of this issue.

First off I am sure I will get a few flames for what I am about to say, but thats fine everyone is entitled to thier opinion. With that said here goes.
Here I sit, with the message "You feel a strong sense of the force within you", after more than meeting the criteria for a visit from the old man.
My badges:
All non-expansion POI (this includes all Jedi, all Hard, all easy)
Professions Mastered: Artisan, Weaponsmith, Tailor, Armorsmith, Scout, Bounty Hunter, Rifleman, Merchant, Doctor, Medic
Content Badges: Imperial TP, Rebel TP, Nym's TP, Imperial Corvette (x3), Rebel Corvette (x3), Neutral Corvette (x3)
Yet I have not seen the old man and am not "glowy".
I have been patient with the fact that this problem may be a bug. Yet we have seen no evidence that there is being any attempt to repair it.
What in my opinion is needed is for an Official SoE Representative to make a statement in the launchpad that this is definately a bug, and what measures are being taken to repair the problem.

Sony, be responsible to your customer base. If there is a fix in progress, let us know that, and when we can expect it to be done. If you are "nerfing" the ability to become a Jedi, then let us know that too. I do not mind working harder, or taking a different path to the place I want to be. But I do not like being kept in the dark about it.
It is my opinion that Sony is "stealth nerfing", the ability to become force sensitive, and therefore "nerfing" progression to Jedi. Sony has been known to do a bit of 'stealth nerfing" in the past, so this would not be something new.

Very well written. I agree that in the game's current state the advertising for it is surely false, because there is no way to become a Jedi. I also believe that's the reason we haven't seen a red name post an announcement on the boards or in the launchpad, because they don't want to admit such a bug.
