Forgot to mention in my previous post thatI have been waiting for the old man for nearly 2 weeks now with no results. So I can confirm for sure that for me it is not working until the bug is repaired.

And to my defense, I'm certainly no n00b. I've been playing almost since launch. So I've played enough of the game to know there isn't much elseI care to do right now than get my FS grind started. The sooner I start it, the sooner I can get it over with. Plus, if I miss phase 3, then that screws up my entire plan and will take me at least a month longer to get the skills that would be slightly less useless. Since you can't get rid of them, I wanna do it right the first time. I've ground out nearly all my xp, and can't really do too much of Mustafar, because it is currently the "Jedi-Only" expansion. Or at least I'll have a hard time forming groups until the mass Jedi lose interest...

Well that was just to address the assumption that all the people complaining about about this glitch "haven't planned anything out yet," or "have plenty ofother things they can do." My annoyance by this glitch is perfectly valid.Tothe nay-sayers, who (I can safely assume) are already passed Jedi Initiate, or have at least started their FS grind -- Please don't flame. I know it's hard work...I just want to get it started.

You can AFK grind your Jedi at Ryatt Trails once again, and no new jedi can be created...

Somehow I don't think these are 2 new bugs - something's up in SOE land.

I too have been playing since launch, and have done most everything there is to do except for Jedi, which is exactly what I'd like to get started on.

Ok, not that anyone wants it, but here's my 2 cents. I was up to "The force is with you" and getting visits by the old man before publish 24, but I didn't accept his crystal because I was CL 24. After pub 24 no visit from him for a week. Today I got a visit from him, but it says I have a "Strong sense". So as far as I'm concerned, all that's bugged for me is what it says when you /checkforcestatus.

I lost glowy but since i did start unlocking Pre pub 24 i can still do the villagequest with no problems. Seems to me this will not be fixed soon It takes SOE awhile to fix anything and somthing like this I think will be over looked for atleast a month or more. They wanted to slow the jedi population and since BH"s with speed expliots was not working why not remove the ability to become jedi all together for new people who just got glowy.. Or another idea is they may want to change the way you get jedi again.. Only time will tell

Maybe this is SOE's way of stopping ppl becoming Jedi's. In all fairness it's completly out of order to ALOT of people who have spent time out of there day just to become a Jedi. I just hope when i unlock i get the old man and all goes well!

I personally, am a veteran of this game. I bought this game with in weeks of it coming out. I played for a while and then eventually quit due to issues that aren't important at the moment. As of recently I have restarted. I've always wanted to be allowed to play a jedi on SWG. As is I'm sure most people who have played this game. SOE should put alot of importance on fixing this bug. Yet I am suprised by the lack of careby SOE. They have one corespondent who is the only corespondent for RIFLES instead of for FS or forJedi. Why they would do this only shows how little they care for us. Us being the majority of players who have nothing better to do then become jedi. After waiting around doing things I've done before, wondering how soon they would fix this bug, I have seen TWO hotfixes come out. I know we have just had an expansion come out, and I'm sure everyone who recently payed the $30 for this expansion is proud of the work you have put into it. Also I'm disapointed you would neglect the hundreds of people who pay $15 a month and wish to become a jedi.

I personally have been waiting for what seems like forever to become glowy. After seeing how much importance SOE puts on helping there "Veterans" out by giving us "Rewards" don't you think they should fix the one thing that people play SWG for(The Jedi)? By stopping us from becoming Glowy and thus jedi they have disabled the one profession people pay the $15 a month for. I for one after seeing how much importance SOE puts on helping out this bug have seen how little they care, they have posted NO ETA they have given us ONE Corespondent,(who isn't even the FS corespondent) and they have given us no hope for retribution. After giving European Servers Double XP For being down for a SMALL period of time, shoudln't they give those have have been tryingto becomeglowy for a LONG time something? Doesn't it make sence that SOE should CARE about it's members who are willing to become jedi and spend that period of grinding while still paying that $15. Now instead of putting all of your hotfixes on our new and "beloved" expansion perhaps you could fix the BASICS first? Before adding new things to the game why not fix what's already wrong and help those already playing? I personally suggest you move this "issue" up on your "list" and give us some compensation for our remaining faithful to the game despite it's inability to produce the most sought after class, the jedi. Now please give us a corespondent who KNOWS what he's talking about and who WILL help us. Oh by the way this only applies if they havne't tricked us yet again, and changed the way jedi are created while claiming this is only a bug. Well good luck and GET TO WORK.

I admit I am seriously beginning to think this is NOT a bug, but intentional. *le sigh*

And just my luck too. Post Pub 24, I finally decided to run Nym's, Rebel theme park and The Warren because I had done everything else and have XP capped in 15 different professions and my list of badges is long. I did what most suggested and took my time, exploring and enjoying the game before going FS. I am hoping I was not screwed because of it.

I do not believe at all that they added more content to the requirements for getting Glowy. There are many of us whose badge lists scroll on and on, who have been downgraded in status and have not been visited.

No, after this many days, I do not believe it is a bug. And frankly, if that is the case, at least one of my accounts is going to be canceled. Not sour grapes, but that money would be better spent on a game where I have not done much of the "been there, done that, have the badges". My personal playing style is "Patience is a virtue, but I must be challenged"... and there will soon be nothing more that challenges me if this 'bug' continues. I *will* get all of the badges that I can possibly get and do all the interesting missions I can find... and be patient... but my patience will run out the moment boredom sets in.

Now my husband? He will quit because he bought the game more then a year ago with the dream of becoming a Wookie Jedi. He has taken his time and enjoyed the game and the people in it, and has not rushed to Jedi like so many who are Jedi now. He is feeling extremely screwed at the moment over this 'bug', as so many others do. If this 'bug' continues, he will cancel both of his accounts in frustration. Not a threat, just reality.

Did either of us think the Jedi "grind' would be easy? No. And that's why we did not grind it fast. Norif/when FS opens up to us will we grind it quickly. It seriously doth suck that we are being 'punished' for playing the game in a 'normal' fashion instead of being power gamers and rushing to Jedi and missing the beauty of the game.

I belive it was caused by the obi-one ghost npc that spawns on mustafar. And is caused by mustafar badges or whatever. I belive this has broken the old man dealy. If that makes sence to anyone.

Same with the armorbreak siliced armor. I think the AB crystal has caused AB sliced armor to not work because AB has maby different code now.

I saw the Old Man, he was laying dead on the ground, and Obi-Wan's blue glowy was walking away with some crystal in his hand. . .

You may be correct. I wonder if they re-used the C++ object they had for the old man/sith for Obi Wan, changed some database configuration numbers without thinking about the existing old man.

Here's my little rant.

I've been plauged by bugs from day one. Back in the day, on my server of sunrunner, when you wanted to grind out ID, there was only one place to do it. The C'net Cantina. So I spent most of my noob days running about in C'net minding my own buisness and dancing the night away.

So Imagine my surprise when I logged in one day and my little dancer who'd never heard aggro music before in her spawnlife had -5000 CORSEC faction. This made my life difficult but I was still able to carry on. I could no longer leave teh cantina without getting gunned down, but I had little need to. After I'd mastered Dancer and Musician, I moved to Naboo to master Image Designing. Those were my glory days. I was wealthy, famous, loved... I had lines of people waiting for my service with a flirtatious smile...

Then the CU hit. I never worried about the CU, after all, I was an entertainer and Image Designer, and this was a aCOMBAT UPGRADE. Then poof, no more buffs, no more stat migrations. My friends started leaving cause they had spent hours and hours mastering profession that were useless and pointless. They finally gave us the ability to force players to tip us. As vulger as that was, we couldn't help but noticing that it was simply in bad taste to force someone to tip us without being able to deliver something that they couldn't do without.

So they let us non-com's use the respec. I became a tailor. Then the BE bug hit, and buisness went south. Quick. It seemed that no one was interested in non-BE clothig. Sure I made some creds off four socketed clothing, but nothing to sustain my rather expensive tastes with. Weaponsmiths and armorsmiths suffered because lotted weapons were now easily looted and there was no need to pay money for thier services. The economy began falling.

So I said to hell with it all, and decided to do what everyone else was doing. I decided to go Jedi. I ground my template up, risked pixal and code trying to get all the badges. And I took my time and enjoyed myself. I didn't rush anything, I just did what I had always done. Placed my faith in the DEVs and had a good time with my online friends.

Now this. I'm normally not the one for crying and whinning when something doesn't go my way. I mearly adapt to the situation and carry on. But things have simply gone too far. It's not the fact that the bug exsists. This game is very complicated, and things happen. This I understand. It's the fact that SOE has not released any statement stating that they so much as acknowledge a problem. I don't even really need an ETA. If they'd only simply come out and say..."hey, we understand there's a problem, and we're trying to fix it" I'd be happy with that. But I've been reading and reading and nothing at all from the DEVs.

I'm a bit obsessive with this game, I'll admit. I have two accounts of my own, and sustain three other accoutns that I inhereted from a friend who's left. But I simply don't think that I have the patence to sit around and wait patently while people that are recieving my hard earned money aren't doing thier jobs and letting us know what exactly is going on with OUR game.

We pay to play this game, I don't think that a response from the people we pay to make it work is too much to ask. I know that City of Villians has recently come out, and my interest is peaked. I don't want to cancel all five accounts, I love this game, and the people i've met in it. But I refuse to support bad buisness practice such as SOE. I'm happy with the product, FURIOUS TO NO END with the conduct and customer service of the comapny. I believe in capitolism, and if they can't do what I pay them too...then I shall fire them. And they're treading on thin ice.

I've remained positive in the face of absurd bugs time and time agian...but the camel's back is begining to give way...

Please DEVs...please...

What Is happening with my game?

patience is a virtue possess it if you can.

anyway a few weeks delay is nothing at all to Jedi (patience is a skill they generally have unless they are Anakin....) in the pastit could take you over a year to even figure out how to unlock....

I realise you are doing your best. As of this time you are the only person that has clearly stated that it is a bug. I realise that you correspondants are volunteers. At the same time this is a pretty major bug, for those that saw the commercials and where lured into buying this game in hopes of being a Jedi. What needs to happen is an announcement and thus acknowledgement of the bug by the developers and not just one correspondant. Something they have seemed reluctant to do. Heck if you could get a couple more correspondants to post that it had been acknowledged as a bug, then that would be great too. However even the Jedi Correspondant who is over this forum has not done that.

I think what you, the correspondants and the developers need to realise is that patience is running thin, very thin. Star Wars Galaxies has failed in Japan, and will be closing in the first quarter of next year. It failed because the Japanese people expect and demand a higher level of quality than most Americans do, and that expectation was not met causing many of them to leave the game in a very short time. That problem is going to continue, Americans have a limit too, it takes much longer to meet it, but they too can tire of a system where they are continously asked to be patient, when they have shown far more patience than is reasonable.

We have seen a steady pattern in releases. This past year has had the most horrid record of patch releases to bugs of any MMORPG in existance. It seems for everything thatis added, they manage tobreak three things. Most of these are minor and do not affect gameplay adversely, but more and more we are seeing major game breaking bugs get into the game. These major bugs are gamebreakers for some people, and the more we see of them the more people are affected.

The developers themselves are not fully to blame. They are under unrealistic demands from management and marketing. They need to be given sufficient time to program and test product before it is sent live. A month long beta test is not sufficient in most cases. They also need to give heed to their current player base, to look for those ideas which seem popular among the people and try to implement as many of them as is possible, while maintaining the highest level of quality possible. It is a tall order, but it can be done.

I am fearful that this game will not be here next year at this time if changes in management and marketing are not made.SOE cannot continue to push live bug ridden code and then ask people continously to remain patient. They also can't afford to lose any significant number of subscribers. Thus qualtiy control needs to take a much higher priority than we have seen to date.
