I don't think people realise how hard their jobs are. If you had ANY idea, I'm sure you wouldn't be complaining.

Yes, the game is bugged. I'm not happy either. Complaining about it on the forums is not going to solve the issue. It's not going to get you a free month. It's not going to get you "free" xp.

Kudos to the devs for all the work they've put into this fine game.

I've tried programming. It's very hard, but somethings can be avoided before they ever even start.

I as a web programmer also agree totally with this post here. Yes the game might be bugged, but thats due to ALWAYS giving us new stuff to do each month. When you add new programming it at times tends to mess with the other coding in their. We all have to remember this game is just over a year old and VERY FAR from finished due to being a MMO which means it never ends till u quit. So quit complaining they are doing the best they can with a semi new game still, and fixing bugs as fast as they can and fit into schedule. I normally do not tell people this but if you wish to ALWAYS whine then save your money go else where because you will come back one day I can GUARANTEE it just because you will have the question "Hmm wonder if....?" You can fill in the dots b/c there will be so many questions that will eventually come up by each person to want to know. I also think that AFTER JTL's release the dev's main focus will be many bugs and additional content in the original game along with profession revamps and the CB, so either have patience or leave!

Open heart surgery is a pretty intricate process as well, so is Interest Rate derivative regression modeling. So what is your f'en point?

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME ?!?!?!?!?!

Obviously you are clueless as to the REST of the Phase 2 quests that are so broken. The DEVs are incompetent...And you're telling us that they did something right on purpose?!?!

Riiiight...Think and read a little b4 u post.

DEVs can't fix Whip cuz they're too busy having trouble understanding one another...

DEVs: You're pitiful. You don't deserve your jobs.

Now the DEVs have done things that make me question their judgment (BIG TIME), but I think you are been more than harsh.

You really think the N-1 was ON PURPOSE?! Think bug.......

"Hey Harry! was there gonna be 2 or 3 sith to kill on that mission?"

"Hell, I don't know. just make it complete after 2."

That would be a valid cynical point if the number in the spawns was static. The spawn size is extremely variable, thus the use of N in my original post. My point still stands. The phase 2, and for that matter phase 1, combat prowess quests perform very smoothly.

I AM a programmer.

So, yes, I have.

The problem is most likely not the DEVs. It is a manager who is prioritizing things (incorrectly IMHO) that need to be addressed.

As for getting results from complaints. A 'Forum' CAN help with that...However we are a number to them. That number generates revenue, and pays thier salaries. Tell a business unit that this is happening, and tell that business unit that this bug and the lack of effective, satisfactory communication is causing a LOSS IN REVENUE...Then they will add it all up.

After all, 1,000s of users compalaining and about to shut thier accounts off is the only wake up call they will listen to.

ZAERION had it right.

if therewere no testing server i wouldnt complain about bugs but since this publish was tested before going live i dont understand how these bugs are even on live, they had to be noticed in testing and should of been fixed.

we are paying money to play this game this should not happen i wish i never paid 3 months in advance... i can say this now it wont happen again. ive hardly played at all in the last week and my money is going to waste.

Hmmm, maybe my age is the reason why these bugs don't inflame me so.

I remember being in Awww over my freinds Amiga that had a demo with a 3D spaceship traveling through space and doing turns. That was the first time I had ever seen such a thing on a computer and was just simply amazed at this computers power to display such things.

When I used to play on my atari 2600, I used to fantasize about the games that now exist, and used to talk to freinds about games like SWG 10 years ago, but had no idea something like this would be possible to do so soon.

The technology to do what they have done is groundbreaking. In the broad strokes of the game and its details, it is truly amazing. That's why I have a hard time going nuts over such bugs I think. They are irritating, but wow, look at what they have done!

You know, we need to address the real problems but not get so upset. If you think the game is not worth it then don't pay anymore. If you do think its worth it and still have fun with it, then use /bug and post clear ideas and complaints, not rants.

I am in sales, have been for years, and I have to tell you when I beleive a customer has fallen off the deap end of the pool I let them sink after a while, not worth it. But, if a customer is willing to work with me to improve a situation or product, I will go far out of my way to work with them.

So, lets watch the attitude and work to improve this already magnificint game.

Like a testing server makes a difference?

How many different betas of Windows XP were there? (Quite a few in fact)

When it launched, did it still have a lot of bugs and security holes, you bet...

The rule I learned regarding programming is that the number of likely errors is inversely proportional to the SQUARE of the number of lines of code. With all the lines of code that must make up a complex MMORPG like Galaxies, that's gotta be a huge number of bugs and not all of them will get caught before it goes live.

There's a lot more people in the Live servers than on Test Center, hence more bugs are going to get caught. Test Center is designed to catch only the major game-breaking ones. Anything else is gravy...

Yeah I imagine age is a factor...too many kids with not enough patience...

I still own two Amigas including a 4000 although they haven't been used in a long while. They were sweet machines to run and a pleasure to program...

As a senior analyst programmer (SAP ABAP/ITS). I know only too well the pros and cons of developing... however if I delivered a pile of *Proverbial excriment*I would loose my job!!! A game like SWG is a MMO <----- testing must be a nightmare!! We as players are partly their Testers who eventually sign it off as delivered and fit for purpose so we, in someways are responsible.. We can only flag up issues that arrise and hope they fix stuff......

Now I'm not one to complain, but I must admit 'We the Customer', do need these things fixed. As a 'Paying Customer' I feel that it is their right to fix these bugs, or people will leave for Final Fantast XI, Dungeons and Dragons etc.... I have friends on FFXI and they say it's lag free etc.....

Let's give them some credit here as I know what it's like, well done SWG Team but lets address the comunities fears and concerns here....

Why must you be so negative? I would bet that if someone took the time to document the bugs vs the properly working systems in this game it would amaze you. You don't care one bit about the positive and focus in on the bugs. Is the work you produce perfect and without flaw? And FYI I have seen not one documented case of anyone failing the COMBAT PROWESS missions due to bugs or system failure.

The stance I take on this is that overall there are a lot of nice things in this game, and a lot of focus on the things that don't work. I at times am very frustrated with the state of this game. Most all of my frustration stems from the apparent lack of adequate feedback from the support staff. I wonder if I am looking in the wrong place for information though. It seems that 90% of the posts around here are negative, so I would guess that I am in the wrong area. I think it would be neat if we could see what exactly the support staff is up to but I am sure that the response from us to that would be overwhelmingly negative as well. Probably why it doesnt exist.
