I soloed a Giant Canyon (Took a hour) As TKM/Master Brawler/Master Swords. Problem is you don't have good knockdown/dizzy defense so you need foods for that. Also you better have Melee Speed FS branch so it goes faster, and master brawler with +5 speed, counter attack, warcry 2, itim 1/2 stack is great. I would have went fencer for defense stacking, but I'm doing the grind by capping TKM/Swords.
Get a damage sliced power hamer instead of speed if you are master swords/Brawler/Melee speed FS. And head hit until it's dead.

Awesome, well, i am TKM / Swordsman 0/3/4/4, I'll get master tomorrow or the next day & give it a shot, I only need x/x/x/4 brawler to master it, so i am good to go lol

Juvies are still dropping Quality Pearls as of March 21, 2005. Picked up 2 last night myself. I'm 2h and able to solo them fine by wacking their mind with 2h head hit. If you pick up a Canyon Krayt while attacking the Juvie, focus on the Juvie while healing as needed, then jump back on your bike to break the agro with the larger Krayt.

So, the nerfed the nerf. I'm glad I haven't been hunting Krayt since Tiggs announced that Juvis and Grands were no longer dropping pearls...so, I guess I can go kill some again.

wow, I am excited lol, I have only seen the little Krayts, waaaay back getting my badge from the graveyard, as a novice brawler, I cannot wait to go back now & own one O_O

Dunno what all they drop but I soloed 2 seperate Juvenile Krayts last night that jumped me outside Jabba palace. I'm TKM/Pistoleer 0/1/4/4/ Medic 0/0/4/0 and had no problems. They took around 5-10min each. One of them dropped some Armor Segments but no pearls.

Damn, I need to get off this grind for a while & explore, I still haven't seen an ewok, let alone fought a Krayt lol

i too am pretty much in the same boat. i just need 1 more branch (and at my rate, i will have that in 2 days, then it's just waiting for phase change)
so as a TKM and 4000 commando, could i stand a chance? I was thinking of picking up Master Brawler and 4000 Fencer (would that help any?)

Whats the average droprate for pearls? I killed 6 juvies(took a while to find more after i killed my first 3) and ended up only looting 8 tissues which was on my first loot.

From my experience I'd say it's roughly 1 for every 5 or 6. It's good to start early before you get Jedi as the drop rate can be a bit rough at times. I've had sessions where I went 2 for 4 then 0 for 6 but I think 1 in 5 or 6 is about the average.
Ancients just aren't worth doing in my opinion since they have 95% resists to everything but cold and Light saber and knockdown/dizzy/Intimidate often. Bring a MCM if you don't know any Jedi if you want to do them since the poison isn't affected by the high resists. But for the time and the drop rate being non-Jedi it's not worth it IMO since the Flawless pearls can tune like poo too and you can get some good tunes out of premiums.
For the time to pearl drop rate I'd stick with Regular Canyon Krayts since the Giants Knockdown/dizzy which at times can be a bit of a pain....with Master Swordsman/Novice Medic you can still solo them but you'll have spurts waiting for them to knock you back up.
Regular Canyon Krayts are the thing to go after since you can get premiums from them and just have to worry about being stunned. They start at 60% resists to everything but Cold and Light Saber and their resists start dropping much sooner than Giants.
Should go without saying but keep it intimidated as much as possible and Regular and Giant Canyon Krayts should be doable with 80% Kinetic...doc buffs and Novice Medic.
Easy way to split Aggro if multiples jump you is to keep whacking on one and then run them to the nearest yellows or reds (just no more Krayts
) and the one/s you're not hitting should pull off and go after the surrounding mobs while you pull your target away from the other one/s.

This is doing it every few days and only one buff set and usually not a full one. I usually end up with at least one pearl per session or sometimes 2.
I would also suggest getting spare armor and repair kits and keeping it on you as you will have it torn up fairly quickly.
Just don't be surprised if you it takes awhile for one to drop and count yourself lucky if you get a couple from a few kills.
I also had a pair of Bone Armor gloves drop from a Giant that were Plus 19 to defense vs intimidate....Plus 16 melee defense...Plus 11 to fire resistance. Only drop like that I've ever seen from them.

Got 12 pearls in one 3-hour buff. Some were from giants, but most from canyons and juvies.The juvies drop decent grinding pearls, which is what you need since you will be starting jedi.

im surprised to not hear CM mentioned here.. i think Master Swords/ Master CM can easily solo a canyon. You can get some really nice posions and more speed around on ur bike while smoking a cig or sumthin and finish them off . You just need patience. But its the safe way.

With Master Swords alone, you can solo a Giant in about 25-40 minutes depending on your PH power and PuPs.
