LOL. Read forum's correspondence about 1 year old. There was a HUGE whine about hologrind and how bad it is and how its destroying economy and the game. Now when its gone the SWG is bleeding?

ROFL

Holo's were terrible. Anyone who thinks differently has not a clue. Besides, the community whined about getting rid of them so loudly there was little choice.

Over and over again...when asked, "holo's or a known but longer/harder system" we said NO HOLO GRINDING.

No one is forced to "go commando". People CHOOSE to do that to grind faster. Period.

This isn't a race. Its a game. I refused to change my melee template for three reasons:

1. I like it.

2. I need the skills as a Padawan.

3. I got to work my through the Village while still playing the rest of the game, including the DWB, PvP, GCW, big game hunting, helping guildies, etc.

The Village is SUPPOSED to make people stop grinding. It is SUPPOSED to keep people from becoming Jedi. It is SUPPOSED to be time consuming. That was the trade off for the old system (that was also a 32 profession grind for most people at the end....very long and tedious as well.)

You either want to be a Jedi and accept the reality that it is going to take a very long time (months and months) to achieve, or you decide that there are other things in the game that interest you more and stop pretending.

And....there is word that the CU will end the 'nade grinding' thing anyway, so you won't have to worry about being "forced" into Commando any more. (I have no references or proof of this...just a hunch after reading development threads.)

If CU kills the nade grid. What will happen? People use nades to become Jedi fast. If they can't use that, will people like it? Stay? Enjoy? Play SWG?

Old holos good or bad, there was more life in towns and more shops, doctors, entertainers.

If this is the problem I dunno. But SWG is not the same like before...

Asteroids rocked. I worked in a pizza place and we played that game all night long. If you couldn't roll the counter over (999,999 was max) you were a noob.

I agree that the game is bleeding but it isnt from boredom... It is from lack of action by the devs for 2 years. there are so many broken professions it isnt funny. The CU is suppose to fix the combat profs but what about the non-combat the dancers are all AFK because they have dances that clip either in clothing or the dance itself is bugged.

I hunt alone not because I want to but because I can't make any money in a group. I can get 40k mokk misions if im in a group but only get paid 2k for them or I can get 20k Kliknik missions by myself and get all the creds. The group payout nerf is why no one groups. If I get in a group it is for the extra xp I get and not the creds.

No offense, butjoining groups to do missions alone originally meant for several playersisnt really grouping.

Doctor buffs are without a doubt what broke grouping. What's the point of balancing monsters for700/700/700 HAM players if can get buffed up to 5 times that much? What the heck were the devs thinking?

Fortunately this is supposed to be fixed in the CU. We can only hope...

Unfortunately, in every system there will be complainers, like some people said, live with it and go with the flow. No matter what they do to change it, there still will be the 'better' profession, and to make every profession have the same powers isnt very good. In the CU we will adapt to change and talk about the old days when everything was good. But in the end, its no different, its 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

There's nothing like running 1000m to kill a mission of chuba's to die twice for 800 credits.

Holos to help you find your way, but not all the way to become Jedi. That system was pain, but much better for SWG. When we had that system we had group hunts, more people in the NPC towns, more entertainers NOT afk, more doctors and less solo on many things.
Now we have no group hunts, 98% afk entertainers (most bots), doctors have become bots (still some real ones), we see more Jedi in towns then Marksman or any other normal profession, most players are in solo groups to grind xp all day...
And allmost everyday someone say they hate this grind or The Village missions for not working. More and more say they are bored and sad. More people take a break, some from the game and some until CU has come. And some players leave the game and never come back.
SWG is bleeding...
Some say the CU will help. I don't think so...

i agree on this, after having finished the FS grinda few weeks agoi took a break to play WoW, i know many people who are doing the same, or who are quitting completley, the at least the holo system varied what you had to grind and how you did it, it allowed you to experience many professions that you would normally not think of doing...

in ways the new system also enables people to become jedi faster, and this in turn creates the large jedi popluation. something needs to be done...

Okay listen. I refuse to go with the flow. I am suprised and uppauld that you would say that. We pay for this game. We all do and if they wont take our oppions to make it better than what are you we paying 15 a month for? If we just wanted to go with the flow we would buy a game for 40 bucks and just enjoy that it couldn't be changed. But this is different. I think that anything would probably make this game better. I'm tired of ghost towns and I absoloutly hate buffs. I think we should give the doc another ability or something cause buffs are horrible.

I wasn't around for the Jedi revamp, or whatever it was called. However, I must say that I do like the idea of having to grind professions that you would otherwise do. It created experience and knowledge of the different profs, and made the universe more full. Also, I have to say that the Village is a great idea. Instead of one or the other, I'd like to see both. For instance, a couple holo-grinds first, then a couple FS branches you have to do to finish.
