The Jedi grind is overrated IMHO, First of all grinding it is the same exact technique as grinding FS xp, without having to drive 10K+ meters total every hour.
It is directly rewarding, meaning if i grind 7 hours i will get my box trained right away.
It is much longer than the FS grind but at DB 4 in the time it takes you to grind one FS branch (12 hours or less) you will get tier 3 in a FS branch...
So, come on, stop saying this is to prepare us for the jedi grind, the jedi grind is long, sure, but it definitely isn't harder.
When you get 3.2m Jedi XP you don't have to wait another 4 months (like me) to use it up.
LOL are you a jedi yet? If not then you have no clue. The jedi grind is NOT overrated. I did the full village and unlocked last Nov. To this date i am only almost master ls and have some healing and enhacer too. The village is a cake walk grind compared to this. You start off thinking 20k will be easy to get novice ls cool. Uhhhh wrong. You only can use intimidate and berzerk. You do nothing fancy but poke every 4-5 secs with avg 150 dmg. You likely, at best, can handle 1 quenker at a time IF you have medic/doc to heal yourself. It takes about 5-10 mins to kill one quenker for about 300xp i think (i know i am wrong but around there). The lair is about 400xp. It is fun to see your lightsaber and it is good this happens earlier because it is VERY boring to get novice ls. And if you get like some and have to show off you will end up on terms and lose a lot of xp. Now just to get 20k for novice ls is long. Imagine how much 100k-200k in the hole is to get out with a training saber. Also you won't really start getting good xp till about 0040 and grinding then first 1.6 mil of ls issss hard.
So it is easy to say the jedi grind is overrated when you aren't even a jedi but being i have done both and i think 100% of the jedi who did the village also will agree that the village was nothing compared to this. And YES it is harder. You can't been seen, you can't hunt with friends, you kill the same things OVer and Over again like the village but for wayyyy less xp and having no cool moves till you advance some is harder.
4 months like you had to wait LMAO hahha please give me a break. Not only is that a bold face lie but WAH you have to wait oh no that is really hard and boring. Please don't speak about the jedi grind if you have yet to even be a jedi and grind it.
I've done the whole Village (no unlocks) and I've had my Jedi for about a month or so. I'm at 0/0/1/0 LS right now, heh.
Firstly, let me say that I'm in agreement with Imperio up there. The Jedi grind is most certainly directly rewarding. You have a lightsaber, that alone makes the Jedi grind more fun. You get xp, there's no conversion, no mind numbing drive to the Village for 7 minutes each way, no cap to worry about hitting and thus making your fighting time "useless" and yeah, you have a lightsaber.
Now, it's true, and I'm not going to lie to you Jedis-to-be. The grind for Novice Lightsaber IS very, very slow. But, the prospect of logging in and taking a buff session or at least 2 hours or so to throw your lightsaber around is a lot of fun. The default moves are kinda boring, but each box gives you a new move. Even at 0/0/1/0, the climb to 0/0/2/0 is a long one. The grind is long. But, once again it comes back to you not only being a JEDI, you're becoming a better Jedi with every n00b lightsaber swing.
Rule #1: Stay away from NPC's and players when doing ANYTHING with your robe or lightsaber. You do NOT want to be deathblown by a Bounty Hunter before at least climbing up to a tier 3 box in lightsaber. Keep to yourself. Do not show off. If you need to show off, take screenshots and send em to friends. Or have friends look at your computer while playing your Jedi. Just don't show off in-game until you can efficiently get some serious xp! It's for the best, folks ![]()
Rule #2: Have FUN! You've worked your tail off, now kick back and enjoy every n00b swipe of your saber, every new move you learn, every little kitty cat or spider you slice apart with your lightsaber. You've earned it, and things DO get better. Take it at your own pace.
Rule #3: Assess your surroundings before running into battle. Don't get in over your head, you'll regret it. Look for "hidden" NPC's that are stuck in trees or wandering around aimlessly. They'll try to come near you and give you visibility before you even notice them.
Rule #4: Pick up Novice Brawler for Intimidate, to reduce the damage done to you a LOT, and for Berzerk when you use your training lightsaber (the default hit doesn't do much damage, berzerk at least gets it up to something respectable). Pick up Novice Medic to be able to use Stim B's. You are going to need stims. Oh yes, you will.
If you thought your patience was tested with the Village, trust me, it will be tested further during the Jedi grind. But, I agree with Imperio - since it's directly rewarding, I find it MUCH more enjoyable. The entire Village was annoying simply was you were GRINDING to GRIND. When you're finally to where the grinding truly matters, it's all a lot more fun.
