i did my FS grind with rifles. i have been rifles for a very long time. i had the grind down to on average capping rifle xp every 45 minutes. i would say if you know what your doing rifles is by far the fastest of the normal skills beside commando grenades to gain FS with. my entire tactic was stop at a lair target the lair start looping strafe2 macro stop macro when the lair explodes and move to the next. i seldom had anything get close to me.

swordsmen have to chase everything down rifles they just die tired.

Agree. I prefer using rifles than melee. I cap rifle XP pretty quick.

Best is to stand between 2 or more lairs. Kill all outside lair and damage lair. Then repeat with other lair. then the first lair has probably spawned some new creatures.

Usually I don't have the patience to wait for getting all creatures out and just blow the lair. My favourite are Merek lairs, when getting close to explode the lair spawns a huge bunch of creatures. Rifles is way better than melee since you better killt hsoe quick before they get near you. Their poison are really bad

Rifleman part commando here and there is just no comparison between rifle and commando. I capped and converted rifle for 60k FSXPin an entertainer buff (and you do need entertainer buffs for rifle). Now I cap and convert combat xp twice in an entertainer buff for 200k FSXP. I am far from the best grinder and I am getting XP three times faster now. Sorry the only reason not to go commando (hehe) is money. You can not be stuck on templates people you have to give them up as Jedi eventually anyway.

I have to say that I am on my 2nd day of the FS grind. IamMaster TK and was Master Commando with novice medic. I gave up Master Commando and the Heavy Weapons line for FS boxes. Thething that quickly became apparent to me wastrying to find decent grenades to grind with.....as there is not a whole lot of weaponsmiths making them and if they are, they are charging out the wazoo for them.....and rightly they should....they are a pain to make.

You have 3 weeks to get your FS XP. I believe this should be plenty of time to get the needed FS XP with a bit of dedicated grinding each day or in a weekend. I don't mind paying for buffs to get the FS XP but, when you count buffs, armor and then grenades....it becomes damned expensive.

I would rather keep the credits I have and manage my play time. I think folks that are using the C-12's to get their FSXP arenumber 1RICH and number 2 Fools. There is an old cliche, "A fool and their money are soon parted." Going the C-12 route is IMO....a bit foolish....unless you just need a change of pace from the regular weapons grind...that's understandable.

If you have an overabundance of credits, feel free to fatten the wallets of the Weaponsmiths.

As for rifles.....I have never been a rifleman but, someone who has been rifles for a good while would probably be able to keep up with any melee class in gaining FS XP. It's all in what you know about the strengths and weaknesses of a profession. If you know them then you will fly through theis thing with great ease.

im gettin fs xp with rifles, i get about 80k-100k fs xp each buff, its not bad at all, just use strafe shot 2 on everything, best things to hunt in a solo are kamuth snappers and giant baz nitches

Preach it Grogg. I have been going on about how much better/faster/easier Kamurith are to grind on than damn near any critter in the game at the moment.

Master Rifleman rocks. I capped rifle xp twice last night with 200k of combat xp in one three-hour buff session. Double mind buff and voila, carcass city on the plains of Endor. Second time I capped was in 45 minutes. That included a trip from Aurillia post buff and a trip in between to exchange the xp. Good luck.

I was not aware how good rifles was for the grind. I have been concidering rifles to wip on the NS's, now it's an even better incentive.

Do I have to be MR to make this work? and whats the best rifle to use?

two things

you need to be master. the difference between master rifles and 4444 rifles is the same difference between 4444 rifles and novice marksman.

there only two nitesisters worth killing that are not immune to rifles. elders (which are surrounded by immune to all rifle types guards) and i believe rangers its one of the 10k ham types. they usually have a immune or two hanging around.

for rifles to be effective and efficient in hunting the sisters you also either need swords to deal withthe immunes or a friend who is swords. a swords/rifle team up between two players is devastating to the sisters.

Yes that is true. i am considering getting 4-0-0-0 Commando. But I hate to destroy my template.

Rifleman give good Xp but grenade method is mroe efficient. However, it is more fun to use rifle than throw grenades. But I am doign a bit of both (but only C12s ATM)

Quoting myself from another recent thread:

"As a master rifleman i can usually cap rifles twice within 3 hours (and i have the time to convert also in the middle of the buff naturally). Endor is the key. Roam and kill. One wild 64k/5'er merek lair can spawn 35+ mereks (without any respawn tricks etc. just "intelligent tapping" without ever leaving lair vicinity). That's about 17k combat xp/lair at best. I have managed to cap rifles in 45 minutes. Naturally the spawn situation in general affects your result. Sometimes spawns are just lousy (oh, how do i hate those warrens...). Rancor Valley is good too, but my tests have shown that i can't do as good there as in Endor. Maybeas a swordsman i could, but as a rifleman i just can't kill rancors fast enough to reach the results i get from Endor."

[EDIT]: I don't have rifle speed tapes, but i have the melee speed branch, which evidently affects ranged speed also (bug).

Yeah, rifleman isnt as good as melee for getting FS experience. Melee can quite happily spin attack lairs from the outset and just keep spamming that attack stationary. Riflemen have to run around/ position carefully to fit enemies into the AOE cones when doing lairs. Its not crap, experience rolls in, just not as quickly as it could.

??? Ever been Rifleman Postman?

I'M master rifleman and believe me i don't run around a lair to take it down. Not only i don't run around but i'm safely at a distance while killing everything on sight. And i'm not talking Corellian Butterfly lairs here...

It's the melee people that needs to run around to kill those enemies escaping their spinattacks (yeah i know, lunge)

I've been TKM, Swordsman and Pikeman. As a rifleman i really don't run around like a headless chicken. In fact, i think i run a lot less now than with those melee profs i mentioned. I just walk/run towards the lair maskscented (to about45-50 meters from the lair). Then /kneel and start Master Headshotting the animals around me. In hairy situations i send my tank pet to do the tanking. So my tank pet does the running, i don't necessarily have to move anywhere from my initial position until the lair is finally destroyed. And master riflemen do hit surprisingly well from melee distances too, so no need to move away just because you have a "merek-in-your-face".

[EDIT] We have an effective attack range of 64 meters. To me that automatically means we don't have to run around as much as melee people.
