Probably a silly question, but would you then get a third character slot? (once you get a 2nd Jedi)

No, one slot per account. (Across all servers)

Actually, a while back, I think it was TH who posted that no, the extra character would have to share lots with the main one.
However, and try to contain your surprise here, they didn't implement this correctly (or they changed their minds). My main account now has 20 lots between jedi and original character.

Wellthanks for the info, It brings out another question however... Is the new character at all related to the other one? (as far as species, apperiance, and name). Or do you just start over with a completely new character?

Second character slot on the same server as the character that unlocked it, hence the Force Sensitive Character Slot.
