The combat quest was a blast. On my server we had two large groups defending the villiage. Everyone was making sure not to hog Pirates and to let as many people get a hit on them. People who had finished didn't run away during the fight..they stayed and fought the Thugs. It was a good show of team work from the FS crowd on Tarq.

I'll add my two cents in here: as I shouted out while running for my life with three Sith Thugs on my tail, this was the most fun I've had in Galaxies in at least 4 months. There was such a wide variety of people from various factions and guilds working together...it was absolutely a blast! Every combat and healing profession really had a chance to showcase their talents during this massive scrum, and I can only hope that the combat revamp and GCW improvements help make this more of a reality, and not a once-every-three-months event.

Couldn't agree more. I went down to the village to turn in my last exp for melee speed (ya, a little slow i know) and i saw all the choas going on. I went and signed up with the captian because it looked so fun. I don't know how i am going to fit points for ranged speed or if i even will, but grinding out 25 pirates has been fun as hell.

off topic..
try this from the healing side.. once you finally get a group of 20 people that are actually cohesive enough to all be in the same general vicinity.. it's a riot
i thin k i dropped like 250k worth of stims.. state stims.. reskits.. buffs.. food.. and other 'wear and tear'.. and that was just what i was using on MY GROUP DURING THE ATTACKs.. compounded with all the downtime woundheals.. and buffs for everyone else who wasn't in my group.. sure turned out to be a great moneysink hahah but well worth every credit.. 8)
glad i got the healing out of the way first.. next time around i'll try something combat related.. prolly ranged.. and see what it's like when goal # 1 isn't making sure those 2 little bars are always tip-tip. but instead that i actually score hits on the 'mobs that matter'.. should make for interesting time

Just finished this tonight and i had a great time with it. the first timei went out we had a very small group and we were not orginized.......many people died trying to complete this. went back out later and got in a full group and had a blast. people yelling for pirates and holding them so all could get a hit. people wo finished stayed to tank thugs so the rest could focus on outlaws and pirates. it was a great grouping experience. I would definatly like to see some more of this.....not neccesarily in village quests but all aorund the ground game.....some grouped activities that are semi easily doable.

yes it is a great quest. I was doing it yesterday was fun, pretty small group there though so lot to do. Still need to kill some more Pirates though.
But I am so tired of getting hunted by all thugs lol. Have lost count on how many I have killed. It was fun since it really took some tactics to survive. Had to run out of village a couple of times with 3 or more thugs and a bunch of outlaws after me, trying to shake them off and kill them one-by-one

Everytime i go to turn in Exp I end up staying and helping tank thugs so others can get their kills on the pirates, I think I have been rezed probablly 30 times since the phase started and never once sent a tell or asked for a rez, lots of fun and team work. oh and some decent loot to boot
