why would u want to convert jedi xp into fs?

My best examples would be for the person who got Jedi purely combat based and would like to have the crafting FS skills to makea better lightsaber. And then theres the opposite person, who attained Jedi through the crafting and medic professions, what if they wanted to get the combat or senses FS skills. Your not going to grind non-jedi professions just to get combat or weapon xp for this.I feel that FS skillshelp us out more than we think, and it would nice to see other templates out there.

I'm assuming that you are refering to someone that isn't full template yet... cause as full template you would have to drop 4 points of jedi skills (which would be millions worth of xp that you would have to regrind plus the FS xp that you would grind to change your template) for example my template will be MLS MHealer 4004 Enhancer, to free up those 4 points I would have to drop to 2004 or 40002 enhancer which is 2.4 million xp + the 1.25 million that you need for each line of FS skills that you want to change.

just seems like a lot of extra work for minimal benefits to me.

Personally I wish once we had 226 skill points in jedi that we could drop the FS skills entirely and use those SPs for jedi skills.

I hear ya on both sides. Personally, I think FS skills should not cost any sp's as these are more inate skills and are not really learned, if you catch my drift. But yeah, being able to drop the FS skillsentirely and put the 24 sp'stowards Jedi skills would be a great addition as well. Again, just being able to create all kinds of templates is the goal here.

I just hit a bunch of buttons and hope everything works out.

How in any way does piloting a spacecraft have a bearing on your force skills or Jedi skills? This is asking for to much.

Well, since Space is pretty much useless after you make Master Pilot, why not allow this? Its just wasted XP right now in my opinion.

The DEVs are quite adamant that space XP will NEVER be convertable. I haven't heard the reasoning behind this (maybe space grinding would be funner, and heaven forbid you have FUN while you grind ) but it seems fairly immutable. Jedi XP is another matter and a topic of heated debate. Some Jedi, especially those who unlocked pre-patch 9, are lobbying to get Jedi XP convertable on a 1:1 ratio so they can reselect poorly chosen FS trees.

So because someone choose unwisely or hurried through to obtain Jedi, you want to change the way the village is setup to work? When one chooses the path to become and train as a Jedi, choices have to be made. The FS skills we unlock and trained are the ones we picked. Nobody forces anyone to pick the "wrong ones".

There is plenty of information in the forums and on the web to help decide what is best for each of us. We might have to give up one profession to take up another to unlock and trainthe FS branches we want. That is what I decided to do because of the FS skills I want. I look at what I wanted as my final template as a Jedi to include FS skills. Not all FS will help me as a Jedi.

I picked the ones I wanted, and worked on theones I could with my template at the time. I havedropped one profession already and mastered another profession to help with FS xp. I'm currently working on mastering another to help with FS xp. I was lucky to start the village on a phase one. This phase 2 would have been my 6th tree to unlock. However, there is nothing this phase I want. So I will wait until phase 3 and unlock what I do want. I currently have 4 trees fully trained and 2 of the 5th one. I play the game to have fun and want the "grind" of Jedi to be fun also.

I understand once you train your Jedi to a point, that obtaining FS will become quite hard to do. All I can say is don't rush through the village. Waiting a few weeks now will pay off later big time. My second toon was not so lucky,

Well at least when you kill something in space it takes more effort than grenade grinding. Or going AFK with a Heal Macro. Cant macro space combat.

The Jedi who unlocked pre-patch 9 were given one day to choose their skills. Some, like persuasion or luck, were chosen because they were believed to be good skills when in reality they do very little. At that point in time there was NO INFO on the forums about what each of the skills did and, seeing as how some of these Jedi had all 250 skill points in the profession, they had no way to go back and change them.

Maybe because it costs zero skill points to master that profession and there is no risk for jedi to fight in space so they would get a safe zone to grind experience to convert. If you allow jedi, then you have allow all other professions, only fair.

Jedi experience convert to FS experience - yes. Starship piloting experience convert to FS experience - I would argue no.

It's hard to know what choices to make if you don't use a guide to find out what does what. But I bet you didn't think about that.
