Let me get this straight:

You get a crystal from an old man

Get attatcked by sith shadows

Defend a village of people who have the force inside of them from said sith

All while holding onto a jedi crystal, and .....what were you saying again?

If you wanna do it any way thendo it,but don't complain when you are unable to complete the quests because you are too weak.It is what it is.

One more thing I want to mention to low levelers,STOP BOTHERING PLAYERS IN GAME TO GROUP WITH YOU FOR THE MISSIONS OR TO KILL YOU SO YOU DON'T LOSE DECAY.Sorry if this is a little harsh but ever since I started the village a month ago I have been inaudated with tells asking for me to kill them so they don't die on the way back to the science outpost.Unless that person has a helper sign above their head, leave them alone. This happens every time I log in or when I'm converting xp.I know this happens frequently as you said, every single day, every log in and log out.Every time this happens I start to say the "N" word, but I always hold back.Maybe if you actually had to be good at fighting and played this game for a certain period of timebesides being a good explorer these problems wouldn't exist.

Let me just set one thing straight, I am a CL80 MBH/MCM (non-respec)in game with enough XP banked for 7 (don't ask)full branches of FS and am just waiting for phase 2 to unlock my Jedi. I am not some "lowbie" who is whining because he can't finish a quest. Not trying to flame you, just trying to set the record straight.

I agree the system is what it is, so the craftersout there do just have to suck it up. However, I still have sympathy for them. Most of the successful crafters on my server are FS with the FS enhancing skills, so it's hard to compete without it. I just hate to see crafters with yet another reason to not be a crafter - whether you like it or not, crafters are an important part of this game and I want to see them succeed.

I do agree with youthat"lowbies" shouldnot bother others in the village for a group, but I would doubt it if any of those are crafters (since they wouldn't be doing the combat quests anyway). As for the ones that want the DB ticket home, it's just a better PvP rating for you.

force sensitive is not a combat profession, Jedi is a combat profession.

I too am somewhat low lvl and im going to have a big problem killing them. I just started back last wek after a 18month off and was near completing when i stoped. I just got the visit from the old man last night (tuesday) i become glowy on sunday. I read eventually the sith will visit me. How long does that usually take? I was freaking out last night runing around for good armor to prepare for them but they never showed. Is it a coupld days for thme like the old man too and will they spawn outside a player city aswell? ALOT has changed since spring 04!!! hahaha

There was once an idea on the FS forum that the level of the sith shadows should be matched to the level of the glowy character.

Putting this rule in effect would allow crafters to become glowy and FS in an easier way. Would it devalue the FS way? Maybe, but of course I suggest we keep the standard FS xp requirements for the branches, hence combat oriented people would definitely have to get as close to CL80 as possible for their own sake.

No, because a crafter will know what to do to beat the shadows even with a CL1. They have accepted the choice they made to be a non-fighter and can get friends and deals to make sure they survive. The people who truly have an issue with the hight combat levels are the lowbies that want to grind jedi, before they even really learn how toplay the game.

Anyone that has played the game for a period of time wouldn't worry about dying from a mob on their swoops.Knowing how to negotiate terrain is easy, that's what the little radar onthe screen is for.Learn to use it.

IF you want to be jedi then you might as well be a combatant since you will be dealing with a BH everyone once and awhile

My wording may not have been clear but I have no issue with non-combat professions, in fact I am glad many people choose not only to fight.

In response to LD I'd just like to point out that not all of us "lowbies" are inexperienced players. This ismy fifth character in the game and simply happens to be the first one I've tried to go FS with. Chances are I've been playing longer than you--just obviously not with this one. Still, I've been all over Dathomir with this char just fine by myself...a swoop and mask scent are great friends to the combat challenged--heh.

The fact that I was able to get glowy so quickly, at so low a CL,and without any aid from others whatsoever ought to tell you that I'm at least a little SWG savvy. I know how todo itmuch faster and easier than the guide methods written here. Truth be told, I did it without any elite slot (so no armor) and could probably have accomplished it with a char as low as CL10 (maybe even less)in about a week of casual play time--two tops.

And while I do want to advance as quickly as I'm able to, I'm not looking for lazy work-arounds or ways to cheat the system--I simply wanted to know if it was even realistically possible for me to start the trials without being a high CL. So far, the response appears to be "yeah, but you are definitely going to need help".

As I said before, I'll probably enlist aid in getting past the first Sith shadows just so I can get into the process, but then I have no problem doing the grind necessary to continue to advance.

Thanks again for all the responses and insight.

What it tells me is that the system should have never allowed anyone to become glowy without being able to get into the village.
