Thread: Small sugestion to FS grinders ( including myself )
Despite the mind-numbing grind, due to my limited play time, I really have to spend just about every moment in-game grinding if I want to see a saber in my hands sometime before 2006. Once I get there, I can relax and enjoy. So the Jedi grind is 10 or 100 times worse? Who cares, I'll be a Jedi.
DRWolfe, I agree with you completely and in fact I end up doing the same thing you do - spending every moment of my gameplaying in swg grinding. The thing is.....it shouldn't have to be this way. I have to keep telling myself that one day I will be able to play this game just for fun, (after I have ground out my jedi).
The reward should not be solely at the mountain's peak.

Well, I've been through just about everything else in the game with my original character, so I'm doing pretty much nothing but the minimum effort to get into the village and grinding XP to get Jedi so I can do them all over again as a Jedi. So, I've seen the mountain's peak, I just want to see it again from a new perspective.
I think this grind could easily have been cut by about a third and it's purpose of making people not go for Jedi would still have been fulfilled. There are going to be Jedi in numbers, everyone who wants one will get one, it's inevitable. The people who would have quit but didn't because the grind was less would quit Jedi when they see that grind ahead of them (if they didn't have my point of view, that is). The Village phases set a time frame which is met by a good number of the population in terms of XP as well (grinding out the XP for a full branch in the three weeks), so why torture the player who has less time to grind? This is the result, we grind 100% of our play time instead of enjoying the game more. Sigh.
