I am halfway through my padawan trials, I just crafted my saber, and was wondering if I can mess around with it and duel friendsand not worry about getting on the terms. I have been told that visibility don't start until you finish the trials and get your force bar etc... is this true?

if you haven't finished padawan trials yet... you won't be hunted but you will still get visibility, so unless it wears off before you finish trials (doubtful) expect to get hunted. btw training saber sucks alot lol you will suck until at least a tier 4 saber skill

You won't get visible till you hit padawan. You WILL lose jedi xp if you die though. People have said they lost 4,700 jedi xp at initiate so be careful. Also lol why are you going to duel? All you can use is berzerk and intimidate. You likely wont do any damage to the person and you don't do any cool moves. Yeah you can go show off your saber and kill npc's or something but to duel? LOL that is funny.

Plus trust me 4,700 xp loss doesn't sound like a lot but with your training saber it is a lot to make up

Aah, so whenever I reach Jedi Initiate, I CAN show off my new saber some before starting "The Grind", and not worry about getting ganked constantly?

Yes but just so you know you will look kinda silly showing it off attack a npc because it will take you 5-10 mins to kill one and the noobs will laugh at you but if you just want to show it off you are safe.

Its perfect for me and my firend, we are both initiate and grp up against pretty high level mobs(pulling one at a time), like fierce pickett protectors, takes exactly 13 mins to kill it and we get 600 jedi xp a piece.

word of advice.

Do not show off your Lightsaber. Unless your done with your template and will not feel the need to lose exp.

One - they said you can't get vis until you reach padie status, However, and this is important, they also said in the same post, using your lightsaber will give you vis.

Maybe you won't show up on the terms as an init. but perhaps it is still filling your vis threshold box, so when you get to padie, your that much closer to crossing the threshold and your on the terms.

So - if your willing to gamble - go for it.

it's a long grind, and coming up from a negative jedi exp hole is murder.
