Actually, I was driving home from work one day when he showed up. I had just pulled up to a red light at this major intersection and I glanced out my window, and there standing on the curb holding a sign was the Old Man. I rolled my window down and he came running right up. But he didn't give me my crystal... he just wanted some cash or something. Bastad.

This was said by a CSR:

The village as a limit to the amount of people who can participate at the village at any given time. When someone fills the last branch of FS exp to complete the village, the next person in the Queue will be visited. This is how it works. there are no special get the old man faster tricks.. When a slot opens up, he will come. I hope this helps a few people.

Death can not remove the badges you have earned. I have never heard of death "removing" any of your force sensitivity. There are SO MANY bad rumors that make their way around....... I'd say just be patient and follow the advice of the above posters. There is recorded evidence to suggest that the following MAY speed up his arrival:
-- Log in and out once
-- Take shuttle to player city
-- hang out in player city, or wander around the countryside outside of city and kill easy creatures
.... So after warning you of Bad Rumors, hope I didnt just spread some more!! The only reason I post them is that more than one person has posted that they did these things and got quick visits from the old geezer. However, as far as I know there is No proof that any of these actions were the actual cause of the quick visits. But while you're waiting.... why not try 'em?

great advice and yes just stay outside a player city and attack stuff
both the old man and the sith came RIGHT after i killed something

Yeah, I believe CSR's like I believe some frigging lady exists whose sole purpose is to exchange money for teeth that have fallen out of childrens' mouths.....

Or maybe...just maybe...it has to do with activity in the game. people don't normally shuttle around multiple times for no good reason.... perhaps the devs, in their infinite wisdom, made the old man activity-dependent. it's certainly in the realm of possibilities, my friend.
