Hopefully it won't be as bad as I fear, and I can look back and laugh at this.
Well...I am done. I have been awake for 30 hours, some of which was spent working, and living..but the rest...I think 16 or so hours is what it took.

Wow... from what I'm reading, there are a lot of you who waited until the very last minute to finish grinding. How could you not see or hear this CU freight train coming at you? As soon as I started reading up on the combat upgrade, I dropped just about everything I was doing and started buying equipment, re-templating, grinding, etc. etc.
I sent out a guild-wide email well over a month ago telling everyone that if they had XP to grind (specifically FS XP), the needed to stop what they were doing and grind it out before the CU hit. Personally, I started over a month in advance to give myself some buffer time, and I finished my entire FS XP grind in less than a month. Yes... that's right, almost the entire 6 branches in well under a month (mostly combat XP, although I did have the novice boxes trained up). I did it in about one buff session a day, and I still had time to go lootmongering or hang out w/ my guildies when I felt like it.
While some of protestors were making a mess and the procrastinators were grinding out that last bit of XP before the CU hit, I was tanking krayts and stocking up on pearls. Personally, I'm glad the CU hit a little early because I'm just sitting around waiting for the phase to shift so I can unlock my last branch and train it up.
I have a lot of friends and guildies who will still be grinding FS XP in the post-CU era (some weren't even glowy in time), so if you don't make your mark by the time the server goes down be sure to let everyone know how the CU is for grinding. If some of the ex-SOE-employee insider information I hear is correct, SOE wants the grind to go on forever and ever (more subscription revenue). Let me know how it turns out.

Well, I was bad. lol
I did 1 branches of combat with C12 grenades in 2 days.
But I finished, and I got lucky to get the visit of the old man and win against Mel yesterday at 3 am :-)
So, the server can go down now. lol

Hah, I started the grind back when the first Phase One hit the servers. Unfortunatly I left for about 4 months there, but I came back last week, and now I have a problem. I had plotted out a course allowing me to finish May 5th, but like that other guy said, the last minute just sort of arrived on me and now I'm going to have a helluva time finishing post CU.
Why or why did Chilastra have to be part of the first group to go down?

I had the whole process pretty well scheduled for the previously announced May 5th date. I didn't wait until the last minute...the last minute just kind of arrived on us, didn't it?
