Dont think I used more than one set, of course I grinded staight through. In other words, I grenade grinded for a week straight and used my armor on nothing else. Could have possibly used two, wore out a piece and bought another. The armor isnt nearly as expensive as the grenades

How many sets of armor did you go through while grinding and what were the stats on it? also was it ubese or Composite. And what was your total cost of grinding with them?

5 stars for asking an intelligent question related to nade grinding that hasn't been already covered 100 times.

Probably about 3-4 sets of comp armor during my grind. Of course it wasn't the top, top notch comp, but a decent set.

if you're doing the nade griding, you will want it on all the time or you will kill yourself with your nades. just as an example, i usually blow out my chestplate first and i know when i've done so because my health will rapidly start to decrease. with all my armor in good condition and as a TKM and commando 4000, i rarely use a stim.
Like it was said before, you don't need high end comp armor. you might be able to find somone selling "grinding" quality comp on your serever for far less than the price of normal armor.

my personal armor had 90% Kinetic and Blast resist so it decayed very slow only used 2 suits!

A word of advice: Do NOT get sliced armour for this grind. It just gets knackered so fast it's a waste of credits.
Unsliced armour works fine.Message Edited by NJ_Ragman on 02-28-2005 03:23 PM
this makes no sense, sliced armour will last the same time, if not longer than unsliced armour. Armour decays by the amount of damage that goes through, so higher base armour looses condition more slowly. Get a set of 90base comp and you'll find that it'll loose condition so slowly it almost seems like its everlasting. If you get an encumberance slice then the rate of condition loss will not change.
I'm using a set of 88-90 base comp, the 4 piece suit. Whenever it gets too low I just repair it. If you're looking for a cheaper option, see if any AS on your server makes 80kinetic/80blast armour, 2 or 3 smiths on valycn do this and it is very popular with nade grinders. You may go through about 2-3 suits of mid-range comp during your grind, but its well worth the expense
Sliced items are harder to repair, but unless you can get 80 Kin/Blast suits, the harder repairs are worth the extra base.

As of yet, I've worked 2 full lines under the commando/grenades wearing composite. I have only had to replace a chest and a set of boots. Not top notch stuff, and yes I have been repairing as needed.
You might try the "Mini-Suit" as it has been passed on to me it consists of:
Helm
Chest
Gloves
Pant
Boots
I don't seem to take much/if any damage at all. Hope this helps, and good luck.

ive grinded about 2.5 trees and i was using 80% ken/56% base comp or something like that and that stuff just died like crazy so i tried a new AS and my new armor is 20%stun/80%ele/90% base and its great only gone through one helmet because it died when i was repairing it

Yes but pants are sometimes used beacuse you get dinged through the pants (armor-holed) so that covers that up. Nades and higher mobs just live hitting you without your pants on
