ok well to respond to a few things no not every one in the group gets the reward or unlocks the melee accuracy box..

Only 2 people the person who drops the sheilds and the person who captures the commander.

Even though it doesn't hurt not to help some one else who hasn't done it or passed

Another thing is always keep a point man in front to help take care of clear a path of aggro for the man whos captured the

commander.... "NEVER" let the man or woman whos captured the commander fight anything atany time your on a timer...

and every second counts...

As for the long haul or long run.... 6k runs can be accomplished but i wouldn't attempt it more then 2 x you may never want

to do this quest again lol .

Here's a Hot Tipthough for you that are having trouble with a commander that likes to gank himself .... try to keep him from

the person who captured him about 40 to 50 m away and only 40 to 50 m.... He will kinda run a bit but not alot.

The droids should be used for everything up till the capture of the commander and the shield take down.

I know not every one is patient and every one wants to complete the task but helping each other will make it go much

faster. I've got a 9 and 2 record so far for getting groups across. Only 2 reason whythose 2 both failed....

There is a or seems to be a fluctuation in the timers... Should the server crash at any time after the reset the mission will

spawn however the commander will and i have seen him gank himself 20 to 15 mins after his capture... The other reason

is do not walk slow keep that 40 to 50 m distance and you should have no problem in getting him there.... I would stick to

doing bases at 3 to 3.5 k away and 6k if your really desperate in getting it but time is of the essence so bring helpfull or

bring along people that are just as determined as you are to get the job done. Although even if you do finish it don't forget

the other people around you... The reward for helping others do it is greater then doing it yourself. As for the base hijackers

yes thats an unfortunate thing that i believe even the sony on-line team will have to work on to stop. However no one has a

claim on the base till the shield is down. I've seen many bases taken this way. For those who would help others finish this

mission even if it be rebel , neutral or imperial put a side your diffrences as team work counts and maybe something even

greater will come of it .

I should say have fun on Mustafar as the planet has gone live for those who have purchased the expanstion early.

Enjoy your day as i will mine .

ok...finally completed this last night with Zesi on Corbantis...

just me and another guy I found in the village...he was an all melee build with no healing abilities...so taking out the turrets was completely my task...he had to take down the shields and kill/lure away the sith.

started out by taking out the kappa turrets with my droid...unfortunately...he thought he had the right remote for the shield but he actually had a sigma remote....so we switched to the next closest, omega. I start taking out the turrets with my droid at omega. Now when using a droid I've foundthe droids (I was using an R3)only attack when you are within the attack range of the turret (80m). So it's best to find a tree or tree stump to hide behind so the turret won't shoot you. I targetted the turret...started firing myself....sent the droid....once I had confirmed the droid was attacking I hid behind the tree. Waited until the droids mind was out...stepped out and started attacking again and called the droid back to let it's mind recharge. Why let it's mind recharge? Becasue other wise it only attacks once every 5 seconds or so, whent he R3's have plenty of mind they'll attack once every second....which makes taking out the turrets much quicker. I attack the turrets myself and run behind the tree still attacking so I know when I'm definetly behind the tree as it'll tell me "can't see your target". So I take out the first two and start working on the 3rd inside the base...fortunately I was able to hide behind the hill in front of the base (I attacked the outside turrets from the sides of the base).

I finished up taking out all three turrets...we drop the shield and take out the first gate...I run in to grab the commander while he deals with the sith. I take out the second gate and deal with a couple of sith that had run in after me. Now I have access to the commander but I still have 10-12 sith waiting just outside the base entrance. Now an important part of this for low number groups is that the sith despawn occasionally...this is the point you want to make your move to get the commander out. I get the commander out and the sith stop spawning...and we are on our way to the village (GOD the commander is soooo slow). One problem...my friend was only able to kill 2 sith...he didn't kill all 5. We make a run for the Village....deal with 1 sith spawns along the way (both of us attacked while still keeping the commander moving. The sith that spawn along the way and the sith that you kill to get the frequency codes DO NOT count towards the 5 that he needed to kill. So he was still lacking 3 sith kills. We get to the village a while later with the commander...and....QUEST COMPLETED. Apparently killing all 5 of the sith is not a requirement for completing the mission. We both got our rewards (the two crystals) and we both had unlocked Melee Accuracy. We were both very happy to get this done. Fortunately I was able to watch the World Series while doing the long walk back...so it wasn't completely boring...

so what have we learned?

1. the Sith that spawn after you drop the shields are the only ones that count towards the 5 sith requirement

2. the 5 sith that you are required to kill is not always a requirement as long as you get the commander back.

3. the sith that spawn after you drop the shields despawn leaving youan opening of a few seconds to sneak the commander out before they start respawning.

edit: as for pets...I don't believe they work...I believe the turrets attack them if they aren't attacking you...then again I didn't try using my pets this timebecause I didn't want to risk them losing vitality. I had tried them before and I believe they were attacked by the turrets.

btw...make sure you add your pets/droids to your group so they hit for more damage. I had my droid in my group and he was hitting for 287 damage every second while he had mind...instead of like 49 damage every second...quite a difference. As for pets, I use a trio, 2 greater sludge panthers (lvl 23) and a crimson razor cat (lvl 24). They do about 149 damage each when in my group for a damage bonus of 447 every second or so...helps quite a bit and I can keep the agro of the mob since I can do something like 470dps by myself.

There we were last night a group of 4 waiting for the base to respawn after doing it and having the commander gank 400m from the village.

2 Toons were afk sitting on a hill outside the range of the turrets, we talked to them but got the AFK reply, therefore we started to take down the turrets. After a small period of time where we had taken down the 2 outside turrets and the gate using a rifleman with cyberarmsthen 2 other toons come running in and drop the sheild (we didn't realise this till later)and they then get ganked by the sith and the final turret. Oh how we laughed at them!! falling on their respective bottoms .We tried to get the Cmndr to follow us but as these goons had taken the sheild down he didn't follow .

I then expressed my thoughts to them, not swearing, I think the strongest language I used was moron, but got abuse back, then the 2nd one tells me that he dropped the sheilds when he was fighting (getting wasted by) the sith/3rd turret and can he have a rez? Dare I say he now has decay on his lovely BH armour, and has been added to my ignore list.

These ppl spoiled a very goodattack by us we had the turrets sorted, sith were undercontrol, everything was going to plan. 2 very selfish children spolied the task for us, however we will be trying again.

Many thanks to my guildmates for a good fun night last night, we already have 2 complete on the quest so far this phase and last night was to be another 2 with 1 more to come.

Oh well, to go on, a rifleman with cyberarms and a good back up of melee/healers can easily take the base down, just remember to stop at 80m and engage the turrets.

All I will say is remember to be nice to ppl and not kill steal, especially when the third turret is not down.

Just curious. Does the trick where you die on purposeto get the commander to spawn without killing any sith still work?

i did this quest with 3 friends. I killed around 200 sith for a cpl days.

turned in 15 wp and remotes and got the loot its not hard just time consuming.

1 get ranged arms or ch with a bad ass rancor, turrets dont attack.heal ch as he commands rancor.

2 find sith spawn.

3 kill them all

4 repeat.

5 turn in you mass of wp and data discs.

6 call your friends.

7 go to ypsilon if youre smart and lucky.

8 get a high position (i found one where both outside turrets were 80m.

9 hit auto fire and make appropriate meal: lunch ,dinner or hehe breakfeast. or ch can attack with high lvl rancor.

10 get high enough to see the inside turret.take it out. or high lvl rancor can attack inside turret.

11 after shield is down kill all sith for about 5 minutes.have your partner get the captain.circle him by about 20 to 30 ft.w/ friends.

12 kill all sith on sight, captain will not escape if you kill them quick.walk dont run to the village.get your stuff.

just a note . . . did it last night

only problem . . . the commander got stuck in the tent. It actually took us longer to get him out of the tent than it did to walk him back!

He ran just fine . . . exploration 4 speeds up hills and all is right with the world . . . except my crystal has a condition of 654 Grrrrrr

kinda funny though, the NPC will root ya, use specials up the ying yang . . .but won't walk out of a tent lol
