If you can, go look right after server restart in the morning, I found everything in about 20 min. or less doing this.

For the pig and the pirate quests I used the way points on the Hermit Guide (found elsewhere on these forums). I travelled to each co-ordinate and made a wp in my datapad, it took a while, but then, every day, after my buffs ran out I hada quick recce to each wp.
I found both the pig and the pirate on my second trip round the wp's. I also found the pirate early in the morning, so maybe that helps.
The Bounty Hunter quest, I just travelled to each npc city with the overhead map on and looked for a group of white dots.
The hermit was pure luck
Hope this helps

I did the whole thing on the weekend. I noticed that the farmer spawned next to me after I had been stopped a while to set up a screen shotof the dual sunrise. It occured to me that he doesn't wander, buts spawns similar to the Old Man. If your moving too fast, he might not spawn.
Check out the walk through:

Hang out for a while or drive real slow around the waypoints. I also found it better to search at night when the glare of all that sand went away and made it easier to see your overhead map.

Keep an eye on planet chat. I finished the quest because some nice soul posted the position of the pirates in planet chat.

I did the entire thing in about 6 hours. Search the forums and find out where to look and what to do. The most difficult for me were the pirate spawns. I finally found there in the valley below the farm house after clearing out some lairs.

this quest is everything that is wrong with mmorpgs.
i hate it with a passion. and if it wasnt for my time invested towards jedi i would have quit the game on sear princible because this quest is live.

You MUST slow down when you are looking for the spawns.I found all of them it seemed when I took a break went and afk for a min or two. Came back and WaLa!
If its too hard to slow down, get on the newbie landspeeder which doesnt go fast to begin with.
Patience is key.

In the quests forum, there is a good guide with waypoints for locating the piggy and pirates.
Following them, I managed to get the badges without difficulty. In fact, I keep running into the
damn pig while Krayt hunting...
And Dude....this quest is what MMORPG's are all about. I don't know what you're doing here if you think otherwise....

screw that guid's wp's for the pirates, the only hard part is getting the pirates and the pig, pig get a ranger and go to a few of them wp's and just search. The pirates, go to the ranch, then make a 1KM circle around it making WP's as u go, u will find the pirates. Like somone said, go early after server reset, if someone recently did a part of the quest there is a 2 hour respawn on the stuff.

this quest is not what mmorpgs are about.
the timesinks in mmorpgs are suppose to be fun.
the timesink in hero of tat quest is ride around a large area hopeing that a certain npc/creature is spawned. every other part of the quest takes maybe a 1% of the total time. now factor in that tatoine is a wasteland desert and absolutely boring to explore on this CANNOT be fun for anyone.
the only ppl who enjoy this quest are either very easily amused or found all the npcs/creatures relatively fast.

just find the hermit guide on alakazham or whatever that site is. waypoint all the locs for the pig, pirates, Bh, moistuire guy etc.
then systematically search them out and you'll be done in a few days....perhaps 2, i did mines in 2days. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT GO SEARCHING FOR THESE THINGS ALONE...HELL NOT EVEN WITH A RANGER..THE WAYPOINTS ARE VERY ACCURATE.
p.s If you cannot find a spawn after searching all the avilable locs...just try again the next day...its prolly despawned due to other ppl already doing it for the day.

when i mentioned not "searching for these things alone" I meant that you should use the waypoints...not using them is like a 95% guaranteee that you wont find what your lookin for.
