I always recomend yavin labor outpost since you won't ever have to worry about houses, and yavin doesn't have too much of a problem with too high lev spawns nearby.
You want to wait in an area that has as few houses and structures in a 2km circle around you.

I've helped on quite a few on Rori and they have always gone well. few houses, nothing to agro you and usually pretty nice terrain to work with.

I did my Mel quest on Naboo. There are virtually no super-mobs to trouble you and the terrain lends itself to working Mel efficiently (i.e. Pull Mel acrossa lakeand blast from the shore...it is hard to hit you with his lightsaber while he is swimming.) I did this with a 3 person group.
We made the mistake of hunting on Tat for Krayts when we unlocked a friend of mine...not a great place for a Mel encounter in the middle of a Krayt Spawn...

D'oh... I got the old man about 200 meters from a static spawn of cl 111's on dant, lol. I didn't know mel appeared on the planet the old man visits you at.

The Mel mission can be on whatever planet you choose to take it. You will get a datapad disk with a waypoint for him that you can open on whatever planet you want.

Did mine on Lok. Was a nice flat spot he spawned on no hills/mounds and had plenty of room to pull his guards and take out the Crystals.

Happened on Naboo last night, got a tell saying a person from Kestrel was ready for Mel 1500m outside town and could I get help. I had just landed in Moenia and there was a 7 person group of Jedi/Rifles/docs just needing a challenge
Mel's camp lasted maybe 3 minutes after the bell sounded!
