personally i feel that with the new style of grinding you dont need to have a template what makes sense just one that is easy to grind with, its why i picked pistols and rifle because you only have to hit the object once and theese two range profs have good damage and are very quick to move from thing to thing

So. MBH, TKM and as much rifleman as possible?

if you will ONLY grind jedi and do nothing much else then yes. but if you will ONLY grind jedi and do nothing else, but can afford armor that is above 6000+ stats, then get swordsman or pikeman instead of tk.

I'm having such a tough time deciding now. I think I want Mrifleman because of the great skills it gets, and the range etc. Being MBH gives me great defenses and a lot more weapons to max out XP on. Being TKM gives me great defenses but only one more weapon to max out XP on. And TKM also takes up a lot more skill points because I have to dabble in brawler. Also, I do not like tanking because I'm rubbish at it, and I hate the way the beasts run off etc.

So. Would you recommend I go for MRifle, MBH (or 0/4/4/4) Pistoleer (0/4/0/4) or Mrifle and TKM. Which will be best for grinding and which will be best in the long run? And which should I care more about? The grinding now or in the long run defending my ass against bounty hunters?

heh if you don't like tanking you won't like rifleman. the way the aggro system is set up now, the mob will attack the highest damage dealer. so unless you have some crowd control ability (like stopping shot) then you will be tanking.

I use MBH/MR and xxx3 for pistols....

its great for grinding as well as doing those extra bounty hunter missions when i get tired of grinding and feel like harrassing rebel jedi's.

Don't mix melee and ranged, its a bad idea. Stick with ranged/ranged or melee/melee. IMHO mix MBH with any combination of other ranged weapons. I would master at least one other weapon then a few boxes in something else. The weapon mastery gives you a 1.2 million xp cap in that weapon your non mastered weapons are 900k cap. So with MBH and either Master rifle, pistol or carb you can max out 3 million weapons xp plus requisite combat xp before you have to make that trip to the village, so each trip at that point is worth 200k fs xp at a minimum. You can get a pick up hunting group and max out all three weapons in a matter of 2-3 hours. For me this has been the best combination, for the fastest grind.

i said only if you grind and do nothing else but grind is the only time to mix melee and ranged, because it makes you weaker but gives more xp. if you have mbh and a master ranged prof (like mrifles) then you will cap 1.2 mil xp for 1 weapon branch (whichever you do first) then 900k for the rest

soi would do mbh/mrifle

Ya, prolly Sniper Shot, cept I hit harder than 2500 with that...by a fair bit. ...unless maybe thats a post-mitigation figure.

I'm MRM/MBH atm, MBH is ok but the RIFLE is my first love. I plan to keep it and pistoleer root (0003) for the BH visits, and lose BH (or whatever i end up changing that part of template to) for Jedi skills first.

ATM, I'm not even purchasing my FS skills, just unlocking and then banking enough exp to buy them later, as buying them now would compromise my template for little to no benefit, given the things I'd lose.

Wow...I am all confused!

So say I'm going to do nothing but grind through the Village. But I'm also not going to change my template...just drop regular skills as I pick up FS and Jedi skills.

What would be the best route there? I'd like to be able to get as much xp as possible in one trip to Aurillia but also not have to regrind a regular template when I get close to or get Jedi.

What'd be the best route there?

How many weapons can you cap with MBH? Just heavy weapons, or other weapons as well? It used to be pistols and carbines I think, but that was pre CU.
