Exactly what did you have to wait for? You had to wait on the games mechanics, not a bug, and not a bug that made you have to pay more money.

You're not reading what I'm saying, if it was a matter of waiting then there wouldn't be a problem, but because this is a game where you are paying monthly for it, anyone who misses the phase 3 quest due to the bug have to pay more, as have to pay 3 more monthly subscriptions. SOE owes the players something.

No, actually SOE doesn't OWE us anything. You are the walking example of what is wrong with the Jedi profession today. I can't believe how pathetic you are sounding. I was hoping it was just by random bad luck you had a bad idea, but now you are justifying wanting free unlocks. Grow up kid and you will realize that no one owes anyone anything. If you pay for a service and are not getting that service then cancel. Simple as that. SOE has themselves covered over anything they do with this game. The box even says gameplay can change monthly. You click on 'I Agree' to everything SOE has to say when you log into the game. Face it, you are an immature kid who feels that every single time something doesn't go your way you need to get something free out of it. The last thing the Jedi profession needs is more people like you in its ranks. If double xp wasn't bad enough, now you want to hand out free unlocks. The problem is you won't realize how terrible these ideas of yours affectsthe Jedi profession until down the line when you are nerfed up and down and on the same playing field as a standard profession. I can think of a few virtues a Jedi should uphold, and judging from your posts, you hold none of them.

1, I am not a kid

2 I'm doing this out of unselfishness, as I have said countless times, I don't need free unlocks, I'm done with all that.

And SOE does owe the people something because this is an unintended bug, and not operating within the gaming mechanics. You'd be right if it was about combat xp going from 3:1 to 30:1 and that taking longer and having to pay more monthly fees to do more grinding, as that is intended, that is what is meant by gameplay can change, NOT an unintended bug, like the loss of glowy. It also wouldn't be a problem if the village wasn't gated, and the way it is, but it is, to slow the progress to Jedi.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You're out of time, SOE The whole 2.5 months shouldn't have been. The game was fine up until Nov 15th. If the CU was worked on, instead of devoting time to the NGE (including the many months prior to November), the game could possibly be totally bug free by now.

My account cancels on 2nd Feb, which was a waste as only played game for 1 day to get the life day gifts, will be resubbing when creature handler, Bio-engineer, scout, and ranger return, oh and the FS village.

Three more things:

1) You must be the immature one, as you can't handle the fact that people may get stuff for free, that you didn't

2) The only ones destroying the Jedi profession, even the game as a whole, are the devs, and the bugs they create.

3) Even if not free unlocks, then something else needs to be given for compensation

You maybe be done with your unlocks but apparently you are not done with wanting to destroy the Jedi profession.

Oh, and #11 on SOE's Terms of Use, the one you click on 'I Agree' everytime you log in...

'11. WE DO NOT ENSURE CONTINUOUS, ERROR-FREE, SECURE OR VIRUS-FREE OPERATION OF THE SOFTWARE, THE GAME, YOUR ACCOUNT OR CONTINUED OPERATION OR AVAILABILITY OF ANY GIVEN SERVER'

Why don't you actually take a look at what you are agreeing to sometime? Actually, why don't you do it just to be an educated consumer? SOE does not enusre their software to be error-free. Gee, sounds a lot like 'bugs' to me. Funny how a Jedi comes to this board demanding free things, and talks about how SOE owes us something when infact the Terms of Service states otherwise. I mean isn't one of the Padawan trials about gathering all data before making a decision? You must've missed that one.

Like I said before, SOE owes us nothing. If this bug is game breaking to you, then quit. That is your only option.

In that case, SOE shouldn't have given double XP, to the european servers then

Right now, no one can become Jedi, and there looks like no immediate fix to the problem, so right now there is no Jedi profession to destroy. Those that just want to get Jedi have now wasted money buying this game. Its not exactly going to get new players to buy the game atm either.

SOE doesn't owe me anything, they owe the players not getting glowy, as if they don't, then that just proves they don't care about the player base, and gladly like riipping off people

I'm not going to quit this game, I have spent a lot of time invested into it, I like the game despite all the flaws, but I can't recommend this game to anyone now, with all these bugs in place, its just too cack! I can't promise anyone that they'll be able to do anything in the game. It's not just Jedi thats broke, but this glowy bug has to be the worst yet!

Playing the rest of the game between phases is enough, it doesn't need this bug to make people play the rest of the game.

Yes it does. This game is all about grinding FS xp, all this does is make you wait a bit longer.

Now that basically just means they're curtailing the insane Jedi growth rate as well as telling you "We're incompetent, but suck it up and go do something other than work on getting a glow-wand". The last thing they want is to give away free Jedi.. as if they already haven't.

Patience is one thing, but being ripped off by SOE is something else. What the hell do you call this sad excuse for a game? With this bug in place, anyone able to get into village now, but can't, and want to bother with Jedi, will have to subscribe to game for at least 3 months longer. Master plan... SOE execs > Devs > players ..Fortunately, I'm not in this position, I'm done with getting glowy, but if I was, I'd quit game on that pricinple alone wouldnt be the first, but because getting into village is the first step, and theres a lot of time and stuff involvedto get Jedi Padawan and even to be a full templated Jedi, that it makes you wonder whether to bother at all, as getting setback after setback after setback due to bugs, is just not on, and I'm not just talking about getting glowy, and the FS grind here.

SOE will have to give something to the players waiting to get glowy to get old man, as having to pay$45 extra due to incompetent devs, is just not on.

They will, but it'll be some pathetic attempt at repayment for their screw up.

The best case scenario that I can think of that wouldn't generate massive ammount of (even more) Jedi hate would be they give you the option to choose to open the tree for any phase you missed IN ITS ENTIRETY since the bug went live. Notice I said just open the tree, not a free unlock - you would still have to grind the xp.

Example:

You got Glowy a night before the Publish (forgot the number).. you were waiting for Old Man but since the bug went live he never came. It was currently ph2 at the time (not reality but I'm just creating numbers now). While you were bugged you missed the whole ph3, but they fix the bug in the middle of ph4.

When they fix the bug, they give anyone who meets the criterion for glowy/FS (after doing the Old Man and the Sith Camp and all that crap..) the ability to OPEN any PHASE 3 skill that you would have wanted to get. However, you still have to grind the xp for the Novice Box.. as well as all subsequent boxes.

This reduces both

a) the loss of time having to wait for an extra 4 phases if you want to do a quest

b) the number of people whining that SOEs giving out free Jedi... you still have to "work" for your Jedi, but you don't have to pay another 3 months in order to become a Jedi

Granted I haven't though of every possible scenario, and there are a myriad of ways that can be abused... It's still better than just .. handing people their Jedi - just because it won't turn into"OMGZ TEH NUB JEEDIZ GOT THEY JEEDI FO FREE... I WAN FREE JEEDI!!!" situation. However.. I don't expect implementing something like that to be easy - and as such.. SOE is too lazy as well as incompetant to pull off something of that magnitude properly without breaking something else.

So basically.. after all that - I've come to this conclusion...

You are beyond screwed.. sorry - blame SOE, not that they'll care.. as long as they can find 3 noobs to replace you when you leave - they won't ever care

Even tho I don't agree with the free unlock, there is a good point there. With anything else in life, if a service is poor or broken the company usally gives something back in return in good faith. It's called customer service, they wantp to keep your business. Hell even McDonlands, after talking to the mangager, gave me a free Big Mac when they messed up my order. Many people now buy this game to become a jedi. Its advertised everywhere that you can explore the universe as a jedi. IF the system is broken it should be a top priority to fix. It has now been over two weeks for many people and still nothing. Yes quitting the game is always an option, but where is the customer service is in that. If you were ripped off at a store by 15-45$, overcharged, would you just not say anything?

Customer Service is pretty much non-existant for SOE. Like I said, if someone leaves - they can always entice 5 more people to play... therefore it doesn't matter to them. Plus, it's a proven fact that they ignore just about anything productive suggested by the players (since the ones actually coming up with ideas are generally ignored, and therefore in the minority). However, they do cave to pressure from masses crying about something (Jedi getting the nerf bat... BHs getting the nerf bat..). That's because those masses are comprised of the powergamers that SOE caters to. The casual gamers that would rather play a BE/Smug because that's what they want to be don't mean anything to SOE.. because that player will eventually leave. The powergaming kiddies with access to mommie's credit cards who become the vast majority of BHs/Jedis are the ones who whine and **edit** constantly to either get themselves powered up, or their opponents nerfed... hence why they are taken into consideration. Why?.. because they're the ones who will keep paying month after month.. ignoring the poor service because it only affects them when they want it to. Outside of that.. they're content to mindlessly grind and keep paying. They already have their Jedi/BH/whatever.. they don't care, and may even prefer that you don't get yours.

Disclaimer: Yes I'm aware I've made some sweeping generalizations as well as accusations in this post. Yes, there will always be a minority who does not fit the profile of those generalizations, but still perform said action for personal reasons. (ie: people who continue to play not because they are obsessive powergamers but because they have grown attached to their character and don't wish to just give up.. people who continue to play because of the mild hope that SOE will stop being such incompetant jackasses and actually make a game worthy of being called Star Wars [I am one of this group].. etc)[color coded examples so you can tell which is which]

However, generalizations and stereotypes exist because there is always a majority that fits into them and therefore supports their existance. If you are a mindless powergaming child (by child I mean maturity and emotionally.. not physical age), feel free to not flame because it will serve only to strengthen my point that you are a child.

If you are not, and still take offence to anything I have said - my apoligies. My intention is not to offend (although maybe rustling some heads might be fun), but to provide an alternative to just begging for free Jediness. It just makes you look weaker to those who already are and have gained it on their own, or to those who may end up having to fight you. (That specific reference is to all the eBay Jedi and most respec BHs [some are cool though])

Ok I think I'm done.. if I missed anything - I'm sure someone will point it out to me (hopefully not in a flame but.. one can only hope)

I am not affected by this bug as I went glowy and had my visits b4 pub 24....

But I think it would be fair of SOE to offer those affected individuals... a free unlock. I mean think about it... it would just be giving them a free 'quest completion' basically... they would still have to train the tree....

It is not fair that people should have to wait extra time... perhaps as much as 12 weeks... it is after all a bug.
