You DO NOT have to kill any thugs to complete this mission. You only needonepartner. I found that a large group got in the way of the interaction between me and my partner. People wanted to go off and do their own thing, too many people wanted to take the leadership role, etc. Find yourself a partner that is as invested in the success of this mission as you are and you won't go wrong.

This is how you do it.

1) Before you bring down the shields send in a droid/pets to kill the turrets. The turrets won't attack the droid back. There are 3 turrets, two outside and one inside.

2) Bring down the shields and run directly towards the thugs to distract them from your partner. You should only hold them off long enough for him to kill both doors and get into the tent.

3) The Thugs will kill you. This is not bad. Repeat: This IS NOT bad. Once you clone the commander will spawn. You have 1 hour from this point to get the commander back to the village.Your partner should wait to capture the commander until you get back to the base. Don't worry about time, you have plenty to go get a buff and get back.

4) Once you get back to the base have your partner capture the commander. Once your partner has captured the commander you run distraction again on the Thugsagain soyour partnercan exit the base. It helps if you are to either side of the base.

5) Once your partner has started his run just targetthe commanderand /follow.

6) Your job from this point on is to follow the commander and inform your parnter whenever the commander slows or stops. Your only other responsibility is to /taunt the few agroes off of your partner (if you can). You will be attacked by sith on your run back to the village, don't even concern yourself with this. You will outrun them easily as they will attempt to stay ranged and go prone or kneel to shoot you.

Some helpful hints:

1) It helps if you and your partner have some terrain negotiation. There is a big difference. I ran this mission the first time with a partner without terrain neg. andthe second time my partner did have it. It was way easier the second time. The commander has a little so he will be able to keep up over hilly terrain.

2) 80% or better armor helps a ton.

3) Remember that you don't have to kill any thugs. Repeat: You DON'T have to kill any thugs.

4) Pets work better than droids if you have the /enrage command. They chew through the turrets. If you have pets with you with the /guard command, use it on your partner. Even better, get the pets buffed because they will see action. My twin crimson razor cats went from 100 vitality to 96 on my first run. They were down to 80 when I did it the last time.

5) 1 hour to complete this mission from the time the commander spawns is plenty. We completed it from 8k with plenty of time to spare.

Good luck. If I had a completed character on Kauri I'd offer to help, but no such luck.

Yeah, I completed it this way with one partner. Worked well, though there were so a few tense moments. Enjoyed it thoroughly

Just one failure in your guide!!
Don't clone unless the commander has spawned. The death itself let him spawn and not the cloning or rezing! If you clone before the commander got captured, the one who died won't get a reward.

I wrote a guide for doing phase 3 accuracy solo. It is hard to to, but hopefuly you can get some pointers and do it in the next couple of days. I did it as a solo, but as long as you have a tank, and a damage dealer, you should be able to complete it. The goal is to NOT fight the sith thugs. Only the 5 you need to get the commander to spawn. Anyway, check it out and hopefully it will help.

Read the FAQ, thought I'd be OK with me (Triple Master) and a buddy (M. Commando) got to the base, got the frequency, got the remote, just brought the shields down, and we both got wiped out by the 7 or8 sith guys with 60-80% resists on everything. Didn't know I needed a huge group for this one.

I did this quest twice the first time through. I did it this time with three people. It is all about patience and you do not have to die at all to do this quest. None of my groups did. Here is how I do it, step by step...

  1. Use pets/droids on the turrets.

  2. Once the turrets are down, take down the shield and fall back.

  3. One of you needs to be master ranged and kneel, hit a bleed and peace right after it sticks.

  4. Get up, run about 100m away from the target. Have your partner follow you and stop half way. Hopefully he/she is melee, as stated, the Thugs suck at melee but will whup you at range.

  5. I am master rifles, so I got well out of range and we both head hit the thugs to death.

  6. Rinse and repeat four more times.

  7. Watch the spawn of the Thugs. They do come in waves. Once a wave leaves, attack the gate.

  8. Gate is gone, send your pet/droid after the turret remaining and fall well back away from the base.

  9. Store your pet/droid after the last turret as you are done with him/it.

  10. Watch the spawn, once it leaves go after the antenna.

  11. Watch the spawn again and have the kidnapper swoop into the base and store his/her swoop. They are done riding at this point.

  12. Watch the spawn, yet again...once they are clear, BURST RUN out of the camp and towards the village.

  13. Have fun walking. The kidnapper does not stop for ANYTHING. His/her partner's job is to hold off the other Sith Pirates that will give chase. Watch for yellow on the radar. You do not have to kill them. just give your partner time to get away.

You will get jumped a few times on your way back to the village, but it is a fun mission. Just remember, kidnapper keeps running, shield guy/gal does the cover work. Again, there is no need to die on this mission, and it can be done alone, if you are a ranged/melee template. The big mistake people make when bleed pulling is trying to stand and bleed. This pulls aggro to you and you will get whupped. Kneel or go prone and PEACE right after one shot.

This mission is easy, it just requires patience and consumes time.

In my experience the commander won't spawn until you clone. There is some dispute on this. To find out for sure lay there until your partner is inside the tent. If after a little while the commander hasn't spawned, clone.

Either way it is the easiest way to do this mission. Some people are just adverse to dying and cloning to complete this mission. Even on my last success in a group of 15 the shield dropper died so we wouldn't have to fight the sith.

also, your pet/droid will kinda just go through the wall to get to the third turret. We never took down the shield until all 3 turrets were gone.

This is incorrect. The commander spawns after you've killed five thugs.

You are wrong (partly). The commader spawns in two different ways.

1) You kill the 5 thugs.

2) after the person who dropped the shields dies.

Don't tell someone they're wrong until you've tried both methods.

Go back and read my former posts. I outlined a method above that worked every time I attempted it.

Again I caveat that this works unless things have changed since last time phase 3 hit. Since there have been no posts stating any change at all from last time, it is reasonable to assume that the method has some merit and is worth a try. The guy has already attempted killing the 5 thugs multiple times and as he has nothing left to lose and only a few days left to complete this mission I suggest he give my method a try.

Yeah, but if the person who drops the shield dies, he fails his part of the mission. The other player still can complete his portion if he returns the commander to the village, but to sacrifice one's own part of the reward is a bit harsh.

The person that dies still unlocks melee accuracy. He also gets both crystals. At least I did the first time I finished it.

You lose nothing from doing it by dying. Nothing.

Your quest log will list the mission as incomplete but you can train melee accuracy. When phase 4 hits you will get a message that you failed your mission. Igot the message(and have read of others who did also) but at that time I already had 2 boxes of melee accuracy trained. My quest log only updated to complete after I helped kill 5 thugs in the phase 4 defend the base quest.

I don't know any other way to say it: Both people unlock melee accuracy and get both crystals by doing it this way (assuming neither of you has finished this mission before).
