should be at the waypoint.
if nothing is there, restart the trial at any force shrine. it won't count against your total failures count.

Look in your datapad at the newly granted schematics. It will tell you what resources are needed. I just went to the bazzar and found the best resources possible and used those to make my crafting kit and saber. Don't worry too much on the stats of your training saber. It'll take you forever to get your first novice box reguardless of the stats.
Drive around the outside of the city, hitting all of the waypoints in the guide. Kill whatever is at those waypoints. If 1 or 2 panthers spawn, you're that much closer. If no panthers spawn, killing what is there will allow them to spawn the next time.
You can drive around the outside of a city in a circle. The spawns will be there by the time you get to them, if you do all 8 or 9, but like I said there may not be any panthers. Since the CU, this quest is more difficult, but won't take more than an hour or so if you use your swoop.
