The Phase 3 quest is how SWG some quests should be. Not all about braun and muscling past everything, but about tactics, strategy, and brains. My guildies now have all done the quest with a group no larger then 4 and not a soul passed away.

Actually, the "tatics" needed in this questseem to involve the Sith despawning, whichstrikes me askind of bugged. When I did the quest, the Thugs kept popping in and out of existence at random, sometimes 5 seconds between poofing and reappearing.

I made it inside with the commander and took 10 minutes or so to kill the one Thug that followed me in there, while my buddy was dead. By the time the fight finished, I couldn't rez him since it'd been too long. But the whole time the rest of the Sith Thugs phased in and out.

The whole dealseemed very buggy and I wasn't that impressed.

If shields are down, move on to next base.

Arf.

My first trip to the village was when it was in phase 4, I hadn't read any of the FS forums at the time and was just thinking this was insane, I was only there to exchange xp.

Like everyone is pointing out....this mission is supposed to make you use your noggin....not your muscle. It is not meant for you to fire fight through, tactics and planning are absolutely essential.

You can do it though...

the key to this mission is the tactics, if your patient the sith will despawn and you have a window, like mentioned up top use arifle man to pull one sith at a time and also stay back so you don't agro the others., with large groups its hard to keep everyone back and listening to the plan a friend and I were able to do it fine with the help of 3 guild mates alsp remember it is not recomended to do this quest unless you have an elite profession. If the shields are already down when you arrive chances are someone else has been there recently. Don't get me wrong it is a hard mission, but with some good tactics it will go flawlessly. Be patient and wait for the despawn and yes all 5 of us were group and we did not get any more sith then the initial 10 they just come in waves and when one group despawns another will come running in just watch for the window. Hope this helps.

Right on, brother. I agree, it's all about the timing of the spawns.

I did this one last time Phase 3 came around with 2 TKM/Docs only and we were able to complete it. I made the mistake of BOTH lowering the shield AND capturing the commander during a very stupid, panicked moment, so no mind crystal for me. I did it a second time to help my guildmate who didn't get the color crystal because of my screw up and this time we did it with a total of 5 people.

The first time with 2 melee elites it was tough, it was much easier the second time with more people and ranged elites. Kiting the 5 Siths you need one at a time is very important, hence why the ranged elite is a plus. Not required, but certainly easier. This is probably my favorite mission I've done in SWG. The Phase 4 is fun too, but not much tactics there, more like total mayhem. Both are entertaining, but Phase 3 was a bit more challenging, IMHO.

I'm hitting it again tomorrow night with some guildies, should be fun.

yes, if you had fun doing this quest the way you did, your gonna love next phase. I swear it's a 300 spawn every 45 mins...at least at peak times. It seemed in the middle of the night tho hardly any spawned. *shrug* could be related to server population... who knows

I was actually able to do the mission with one other person who I met at the village, on our first try. This was at the first Phase 3. At the time I was Master Swords / Master Brawler / TKM. My partner was actually was still levelling Pistoleer, so he actually didn't do all the fighting. It isn't hard to do at all, if you actually try to think about it first.

And, the more people that are near the base, the more Sith will spawn. Tis why I hated doing the mission with guildmates because so many people would pass by, causing more Sith to spawn.

Did it with one other person, took 3 tries but we did it.

Have 1 person draw the thugs and run till they all fall off but 2 or 3. Kill these thugs, then draw 2-3 more and take them down. Now, draw the thugs from the front using the guy that already dropped the sheilds, while they chase him run in and capture the commander. Wait for a few momments as your guy drags the thugs away from the entrance and then lead the commander out the front gate and back to the villiage.

No, its not easy, but that is why it is so much fun... and frustrating. I'm a master swordsman / Master brawler / Master TK / medic. My freind is a master doc / master TK. We had good armor, food / ent / doc buffs and psg's are nice too. There are even those that have soloed it, I would imagine a master sword / master rifle would be ideal for that.

This quest took me quitea few tries to accomplist and let me tell you what i found out. This quest cannot be done with pure brawn. No matter how many people you have if you try and muscle your way into the base you will all die. simple as that. This quest can ONLY be completed thru stealth and trickery. When i finally accomplished this quest in the end it took only 2 people. And guess what? You don't even have to kill any thugs. Just go to a fresh base. have the shield guy drop the shields. You wait round back to the right. He drops shields, sith spawn, he lures sith away and dies. That spawns the commander. However, dont' have him clone untill you capture the commander. Which you will do as soon as sith run away from the front. speeder in, capture, speeder out 60m. Dismount, and run your happy crack to the village. Have you friend meet you on the wayback so you both get credit as well. Hope this helped.

what you want to do is right..i mean right when the sheild is brought down...storm the gate..destroy it...destroy the turret inside..you want to go into the inner building where the commander spawns..then the sith will stay outside the compound...they will group together..then scatter..when they scatter..you go out..aggro one...bring him back..kill him..till you get five...when you get five...the commander spawns in the tent...capture him..wait till the sith spawns dissappear..then you'll have a small window to run out..haul butt out..before sith respawn..then your on your way to village..if you have a couple buddies to help you killl sith it goes much faster...and would definitely help to have an escort...Ceasar

im pretty sure that 5 or 10 sith spawn for each player that attacks so if 2 attack then 10-20 spawn per spawn if a group of 30 thats 150-300 sith
