Ok they are turned off. All people that are Knights now will be Knights in the new system.

All people trying to get Knight will now have a tough time doing so.

**this should sum it up**

Note* DEVS have not even tested this system yet really so it may be a while. Im guessing the new trials will include some harder things on Kash etc.. who knows.

In the context of new development methods adopted within the past year by the studio responsible for Star Wars Galaxies, which a year ago saw several drastic changes to the game-world's overall experience, SOE's John Blakely and Todd Fiala issued a warning: "Don't make our mistakes."

If they make the new Knight trials include requiring you to own RoTW they are going to get a whole new wave of cancelations. I am patiently waiting for the trials to be turned back on to attain that coveted Jedi Knight title and hit the FRS. If I am unable to do so simply because I choose not to buy a expansion then I don't see why I should stick around.

I too want to know what is going on with the trials. After the past year of grinding, I was about to start my trials before CU, and of course I am more than ready for them adter double xp week.

It would be nice to know when the trials will be turned back on.

you better watch the statements about knight trials and the rage of the wookie references. i made a joking post about irony and if we had to have rage of the wookies to do knight trials. it was pulled before i could go back in and check any posts.. so i put a second one up and it was pulled also and i got accused of trolling. i bet that you will have to have it to get knight trials done. but i bet the ones on kash are easier options so you buy the game. just like jtl, they nerfed the hunting groups to get people to buy jtl because that was the only way to make any money. greed rears its ugly head again.

Then they will lose at least 1 more longtime customer. I will not be forced into buying a expansion. I am sure there are others who agree with me.

If you expect to force me to buy an upgrade to take the Knight trials, you've lost me and several of my friends as well. And if you do that, I expect you should have to find some way to make EXISTING Knights and ranking Jedi buy the expansion as well. Not only is that the only way to avoid accusations of favoritism, but hey, you can keep trying to turn a buck as well. You want to tinker with the Jedi profession some more? Un-nerf sabers, perhaps, or maybe fix the Padawan trials; the only TRUE challenge in them is dealing with the X amount of bugged quests you receive. Changes, changes, changes. That's pretty much all we see or hear about, but little, and DEFINITELY not enough, about fixes. I think it's sad that every time a good number of your players achieve a landmark of some kind you find some way to subtly slap them in the face and raise the bar. As John Smedley so "amicably" put it recently, "<We> pay the bills around here." You think while there are still some devoted players you might at least stop taking away the things we wind up WORKING for rather than keeping this a fun, enjoyable GAME? "Oh, I'm sorry, the Knight Trials are temporarily closed. No, we can't tell you what they'll involve or when you can take them. We might make you cough up an extra $30, though, but hey, here are some new speeders, and you and a friend (if any of them still play) can ride around together." I'm curious as to whether or not it will look like it's driving backwards to BOTH passengers.

Since I don't want to focus on the negative, I'll make a few suggestions. One, restore the FRS. It's one of the few things keeping some of your long-standing players here. Don't even think about shoving Rage of the Wookiees down the Jedi's throats. If you do, I strongly advise you find a way to make that retroactive, as you're singling out new Jedi and allowing existing Knights to go scott free (you wouldn't want to lose a few bucks, now would you?). Let's focus on some of the AGE-old problems that still exist, rather than making some new ones. And if you could make it so I could listen to/watch an entertainer when I'm standing right in front of them on the FIRST attempt and not the FIFTIETH only be told that I've stopped listening to/watching them because they're too far away, that would be great. Why not start building UP some of the professions you've disappointed us with from the door (SMUGGLER being the BEST example), instead of "dumbing down" and "nerfing" the others. Also, I don't know if you watched the same movies that I'VE been watching since 1977, but the Jedi, you see, they're SUPPOSED to be really powerful. Mix it up a little. Send Bounty Hunters after Smugglers as well.

Some thingsthe developers have to try to bear in mind when they read posts from frustrated players:

1. We pay for this, and it's a game. We play the game to escape the difficulties we face in the real world. You're making the game more WORK for us than play. Hardly worth paying for.

2. We exist in a game world where many of the rules are UNKNOWN to us. I refer mainly to visibility, how one attains Jedi, and a few other subtle points of the game, and it's very frustrating to finally get SOME sense of what's going on and how things work to not only have them changed on us COMPLETELY, but to not even be TOLD that they've been changed, if they're being changed, etc. Your own in-game help system ITSELF is actually quite antiquated and misleading to some players looking for help. It's very hard to enjoy a game where not only do the rules change, but those who make/enforce the rules don't tell those who play.

3. We play Star Wars Galaxies BECAUSE it is STAR WARS GALAXIES. Not because it's WoW or EQ2.

Smedley himself wrote that if we had ideas and suggestions on how to make things better, please tell you so that you can work to incorporate some of these concepts. I read post after post every day voicing the wants, needs, and concerns of players, only to watch many of them be ignored.

Thanks.

D
