Thread: Phase 1 Sences: please help quick!
Hi all,
I am Master Doc on Bloodfin and looking to do this quest in next phase. I am sorry to ask this again, but do I really need to drop doc skills and pickup Master Medic in order to complete? I just don't want to drop Doc skills if I dont have too. Seems like strange game logic to have Master Medics able to administer medications that Docs or CMs can't.
Or maybe doc with a little more skill?
Ok, some things need to be cleared up about this quest.
You need to be Master Medic to take the quest - correct.
You need to be 0004 Bio-Engineer to craft the quest items - correct
You can complete the quest even if you didnt craft the quest items yourself or have 0004 BE - correct
Background: Someone was nice enough a while ago on my server to create backpacks upon backpacks of these items and sell them for a bucketload - hell worked for me - I bought 'em. So thats more of your battle. Go to your trade forums for your server and ask someone nicely.
Ok, this quest is in 3 parts. Heal 5 for the unlock, heal another 5 for the necklace and another 5 for the plant.
ADVICE: You dont get notified when you have completed the 5 - if you dont talk to the chick who gave you the quest, you will just keep healing and healing, more than you need to. So after 5 - talk to the mission giver for your unlock. You can then talk to her again for your extended healing quest.
Now, what the suggested guide doesnt really explain well enough is - God damn it! What the hell do I do exactly? I dont understand whats being asked. In short, here is how to go about it. Let me explain in simple terms.
Talk to a droid and he will talk in a white bubble and you think - what the hell did you just say? Talk to him again for the black box and your 2 responses - and leave it there for a moment. You will notice that the droid says something like ... this patient is suffering from Fever, vommiting, blood clotting, etc and will mention about 6 things wrong - the villager is basically on his death bed.
Close your dialogue box, get the droid's "Thankyou" response and just drag and drop your first med onto the droid. He will tell you to talk to him again to get an update on the health of the villager. Do this and if you heal the symptoms in the correct order, they will disappear and you can continue dropping relevant meds onto the droid.
The trick is to work your way backwards. ie If the droid mentions that they are suffereing from violent convulsions last, then treat that first. Then work you way back to the next last issue.
CONFIRMATION: If you craft or have a med that heals the last 1, 2, 3, etc symptoms, then yes, all of them will disappear. BUT, if your med heals the last, second last, not the third, but the forth last, then you will only heal the last and second last (not the forth) and will have to treat the third last and forth last in that order. Annoying, but hey, thats whats needed.
I had (supposedly) enough meds to do the quest 3 times and get the planet - buggered if I had enough meds for the 2nd time. I was just glad to get rid of it and I deleted the rest of the meds. Bugger that! I think I will go get an extra combat tree! LOL
Happy to answer anyone else's questions about this quest in simple noob speak.
Good luck - ask yourself if you really need this tree - I dont - I am a quest wh0re.

but will novice doc work in place of master med? Since novice doc used to require master medic? Anyone? This would leave me more sp to work on getting BE skills
As previously mentioned in this thread: you MUST have master medic to take the quest.
You can be a master doc and still be unable to accept it. It's plain stupid but them's the rules
That's assuming you can take the quest. I respecced to master medic/BE0004 and stocked up on resources and when i got there Sivarra tells me: 'you look to be rather busy at the moment, come back to me when you aren't so busy'
Great, now a 2 day wait for a CSR to respond and enable me to do this quest, at which point my respec will be over
/sigh
PS: to confirm: whilst writing this post i watched a master doc get told he doesn't have enough medical experience by Sivarra
