Thread: Path of the Jedi, Path of the Sith
Bump
I really would like to get more discussion on this, and see if we can come up with some really good ideas for SOE.

The path for a Jedi should remain the same, but allow for light and dark "faction" or something. The path, the decisions, you make along the way should determine your character. Dark Jedi are Jedi who have fallen from grace. They have succumbed to the power of the dark side, they are no longer accepted by their light jedi peers, and they are not wanted by the Empire. They are rouges, misfits, with no ambitions other than power. The path of the Jedi is hard, but the path of the Dark Jedi should be harder in that they are hunted by rebels and imperials alike.
That is all I could think of at the moment.
Ok, I am interested on the idea of having "faction", and that decisions could determine the path, but how would that work? Killing certain mobs would gain you dark faction and killing other mobs would give light faction? If that was done with the village in mind, and grinding for FS exp, that could force those wanting to go to the light side to engage only "evil" mobs, while those wanting the dark sde could kill anything. You could make healing exp "light" FS exp, as an example. Some exp could be "faction" neutral, like crafting. Perhaps all FS exp could come from these pools, no matter what branch you are working on! The more I think about it, the more I like it. This could make getting "light" exp slightly more difficult, while "dark" exp could be easier, thus embracing some of the Force traditions of the Dark side being easier and more seductive.
