yeah new ppl need to explore the game, i played this game for 14 months played every combat proffesion, both healing, and 3 crafting and only now unlocking next phase.

Hmmmm...new forum ID, but not a new player, lol. I've been playing SWG since the Fourth of July weekend 2003...basically right after launch. I spent a lot of time PvP'g with my guild...then I spent more time doing the RP thing.

When the holos first came out, I did my first one...Master Artisan. By the time I'd finished that, I was sick of crafting, so when the 2nd holo said Master Armorsmith....oh heck no....especially since I'd taken so much time to grind out Master Smuggler/Master Commando. I basically just helped my ingame buddy with all of his profession grinding 'til he unlocked on the second to last profession.

When I completely re-rolled my identity, I still had not even bothered to really follow the "glowie" path until the same ingame buddy I had helped all those months ago convinced me to go ahead and pursue it.

Now I'm having a blast, and yeah, I probably should've pursued this some time ago...but that wasn't my gameplan back then. Now it is. The "newbie" forum rank is just so folks I don't want to deal with (through no fault of their own really) don't know who I am. /grin

Agreed. The MMORPG is supposed to be an immersing experience. I've been playing since October '03 and am just finally starting to do a little grind on the FS. Nothing major...still going out and experiencing all of the other content, but Jedi should be a point that is reached, not a short-term goal.

Jedi are what sell Star Wars games, just look at the success of Kotor and Jedi Academy, these games made more money than any other star wars video games EVER!! So I think its fair to suggest that marketing Jedi is what brings in the money.

I will be totally honest with you here, if they took Jedi out of the game or put a block on them somehow, I probably wouldn't be here and I think the same goes for many gamers.

There is still a huge problem with all of this though, and that is what is going to happen to Jedi when every player has atleast one or two of them? Better yet, what is going to happen to the state of overall gameplay? I think the biggest mistake on SOE's part is that they put the game in the worst overall time setting for such gameplay to occur. People who enjoy the galactic civil war are going to be put on the shelf, and i can understand their frustration because the game was originally intended to cator to that particular theme, and then SOE decides to take that away from them.

Who knows what Jedi will be 15 weeks from now when I actually unlock mine.

If you think that, because the little description to the right says "New Member", means that everyone who is classified this way is a noob, you'd be wrong. I for one, although classified as a new member of the forums, am not a new SWG player. I have been playing along time, and delayed becoming jedi until a few months ago. I only recently signed onto the forums, because of an issue with the phase 4 quest, otherwise, would never have joined the "fan club." So, don't assume anything.
