Great you have a jedi, most of us dont. This new combat xp thing is horrible, so if you have a jedi, dont say things like "shut up", "deal with it" because you already have your toy.
To get full xp for combat/pistol/carbine/rifle and turn it in, it will take approximately 3 or so hours to get depending on the effeciency of your group and at least 30 minutes travel time to and from the village, so you are talking 240 hours just to fill 6 branches of XP. 240 hours of play time.
So, take your lightsaber and shove it up your 4th point of contact and let these guys complain. It is legit. Not everyone is a powergamer.
Please, for the love of God, quit complaining. The Devs didn't make this change just to stop 'nade grinding. They fully intended it to slow down the path to Jedi because, and let's face it, there are too many Jedi. Does it suck? Sure, but if you want to be a Jedi, you have no other choice. Suck it up and get grinding. If not, well, there are over 30 other professions out there.
And before you start flaming me for being a Jedi or whatever, I still have 3 more village phases to wait through and over 2 million more FS XP to grind out. I'll be right there with you.

considering it takes 18 weeks minium to unlock the boxes(6 x 3 weeks) but usually 24 weeks if you want to choosea few fromthe same phase, i really dont see that 240 hours such a big deal....
15 hours a week , 10 hours a week on the more likey 24 weeks to unlock all the right boxes...
hey, maybe i dont get it, i unlocked between pub 9 and 10 (did holo unlock system of 30 proffessions, but still had to do melichae come pub 10)
Ireally dont see the big fuss is about, its still quicker than pre-cu, and alot quicker than pre-pub 10 for the most part.
I am by no means defending the nerf, or would of wished it apon anyone, just saying its not as bad as some of you are making out, and yes it sucks, they didn't have to nerf it this way, but its life, flow with the punches.
The new XP conversion rates mean more boring grinding, and more boring trips back and forth to the village. I'd even settle for a series of quests, like that found on Kashyyyk, which would take you 500 hours to do, longer but more interesting, and especially if each quest gave out rewards (like Kash too). So if you decide the progress to Jedi is taking too long, then at least you've gotten something out of it, other than repetitive grinding, cause these XP changes affect so much in a way that it means not experiencing any more game content, or continue mindless grinding for Jedi/2nd slot, if I quit now, then any grinding already done would end up being a waste of time, but continuing to grind Jedi/2nd slot, then could lose buddies if concentrating on Jedi (in my case 2nd slot) instead of joining them on the games content. This just leaves everybody stuck between a rock and a hard place.
If the progress towards Jedi involved rewarding quests, and even takes longer than the system now, then you can dip in and out, whenever you feel like itt, and if you end up never getting to Jedi, then its worth it from all these rewards etc
Also, it just seems that they make things tighter and tighter all the time, and keep messing things around, and jerking people around, and gets a bit much when they change things when you're well on your way with a system you saw to be OK, and doable with your game time allowance. I bet a lot of people may not have bothered with Jedi/2nd slot from the start if they saw that the combat exchange rate was 30:1, or just started it off to see how slow it was, then abandoned the idea straight away, and did other stuff the game offered, but when you been working on it for months and monthsand still haven't gotten half way with it, then they change these things, then is no wonder people end up getting into a flap over it?
Aalso next publish, it looks like groups will have the XP shared, which is going to take even longer!!
They shouldn't be making things harder, or more appropriatley more time consuming, they should be making things easier/quicker or as I suggested above if they can't do these things, then make thinbgs more interesting and fun, these nerfs fail to do that.
EDIT: Most of that is a generalisation, as I'm not going for Jedi, but the 2nd slot

Ok i can see some reasoning there, but i did jedi for the RP, not for the extra character slot... ialso did it to further my "old man" characters depth... so it was worth the 6months + i spend just doing proffessions (30+)i didn't like, but grew to understand and learn from anyway.
guess i dont see it as so bad, as you do get rewards for each of the tree's you unlock, and you aren't limited to getting the xp requirements within that same phase or anything, you can still go off and do those content with your guildies, a fair bit of that content on kashyyyk is actually not too bad xp
you can alsostill keep a template you like and enjoy and be able to do your grind towards jedi...
yes you still have to get the exp requirements eventually, but aslong as you do all the unlocks at the correct times, which take usually less than a few hours per 3 weeks, you've got lots of time to get stuff done in between and have fun, learn parts of the game you haven't done before.

It all depends on differeent peoples goals of the game, considering you had the tenacity to get Jedi from the beginning doing all that profession holocron grinding, the village is easier no matter what.
I started the game, in July 2003, and aimed for DE, Jedi was at the back of mind, I knew there was some magical way to get Jedi, but never bothered myself with it, then I wanted a char for combat, so I created a Wookiee for Master Marksman/TKM/Master Commando, and even when my buddies were off hunting force sensitive guys to get holocrons, I didn't bother my self with it, as all I got from them were tells saying "No Holocron
", howver whilst doing that, Christmas came, and we got our holocrons, and the first prof I had to master was TKM, and thought sweet, in the middle of doing this anyway, with my wookiee, so then started my hologrind with my wookiee char and TKM and Commando kind of got abolished as after doing TKM I had to do Combat medic, so it was bye bye TKM, but still kept my original character with Master Artisan/DE/Merchant, and quite content being a DE with one char and doing the hologrind with the other, fairly slowly, then one day, SOE announce the new FS system and everything went up in the air, and I totally neglected my DE business and focussed on grinding every profession with my wookiee, got 4 unlocks from it for the village and just had to do 2 unlocks and grind the XP, and was Jedi with the wookiee, about a year later.
Personally I would have been content slowly grinding the professions in the old holocron way, than finish it off with the village.
the rewards arent that great, when compared to the rewards from Kash quests, although I see they have alterered some of them now.
So, if I didn't get the free holocorons, I wouldn't have bothered doing Jedi at all, I saw the looting of holocrons virtually impossible so didn't bother, and I can see some may not have started the path to Jedi if combat exchange rate was 30:1
