oh and one other reason noobs all want jedi so fast is now the commander of the ship you start the tutorial on is a freakin jedi and you get to see a saber dual before you ever touch ground. maybe if they took that out then kids wouldnt think jedi would come so fast.
thats retarded. last time i did it, it was telling you the basics and you fought a smuggler. i got scared the first time i fought him, but found it was easy. what happened to that simpleness? there was at least 1 thing that hinted your character was special, since it had gotten out of the prison, and they didnt know how i think. that jedi idea is retarded

im glad they changed it to 30:1. it maybe doubles your grind time. big freaking whoop. im CL 80 so i average about 7k per kill in group. a CL80 jedi gets maybe 1200 per kill, and there is a hell of a lot more xp needed in jedi. maybe the devs changed it to help us prepare for the even longer and much much much harder jedi grind. no wait...thats too easy and almost dare i say...logical?? no no they did this to piss us off, yeah thats it to piss us all off and make us quit. because after all they make more money when fewer people play.
Actually, Jedi almost have it better then the FS grinders. We have to go all the way to dath to convert and do quests, and then we have to train there. If no one will teach a Jedi the skills they need THEN they go to their trainer. They can sit there and grind, Jedi won't be hard and it probably will be a shorter grind then FS because I can sit there and grind, but for FS I need to transport when I cap a bunch of things.

i have to agree. the holo grind was easy. anyone who says otherwise either didn't try it and was too busy x-server trading during christmas when they gave them out for free and was selling them at 1 mill a piece LOLor got stuck with a very tough skill on thier first holo, or simply wasn't there for it.
my first3 holos were: Image Designer ( took 5 hours to grind out) , Weaponsmith ( tookabout 16 hours spread over 3 daysand tons of resources),and Rifleman ( got bored at this point and stopped. at the time i wasn't really interested in combat classes.).
i do agree that the 30:1 ratio seems a bit tough , but i also have to admit i don't know what the FS grind was like before it because i just got tot he village 2 days ago. so for me this is the system. for those that had it easier before, this will stink for them.
i believe the system should be tough. If i wanted it easy i'd have gone to the village on mycharacter that did the holo grindand used his 2 free unlocks. instead i went to the village on my alt and will have to do just like everyone else who wasn't here back then.
um.... w.t.h?
if you remember, grinding profs was a lot harder back then, a lot of people unlocked on prof 28+, including having to go through BH and merchant. fora while, wooks didnt have armor (ya i was there for that), there were no bikes, and a slower grind.
these impatient little noobs, if they wouldve seen the fact that they probably would have had to grind 30 professions, i dont think theyd have done it.
even though i liked hologrinding, it was only faster for the powergamer who could do tkm in 1-2 days.

Well for me, SWG was a great game while it lasted. Everyoneis relieved about the group xpsituation that the devs changed back, but for me, it doesntmake a difference because I basically stopped logging on after the combat xp nerf.Likesomeguy on this forum said, they probably just did the groupxp nerf to make everyone forget about the 30:1 change. He referred to it as "pulling the wool over oureyes" andI could'nt agree more with him.The only goal that was worthwhile for me, and what brought me to the gamewas obtaining jedi. SureI had to get rifleman and carbineer, but that wasjust to prepare for the FSgrind.I had just startedmyFS grind that I thought was already too long when this wonderfulpubish came. Boy wasI pissed. What were the devs thinking? Ok, so the jedi population doesn't fit the timeline, big whoop. Theresalready many, many, jedi, theres no point of slowing down the population now.And I know the whole thing about the grenades buti guess nerfingthe grenade xp just made too much sense to do.Maybe screwing over legitimate grinders was just a great idea at the time.Making a game 2x longer and even moreboring is not the way to go, especially when jedi is the main attraction for new players.
I would like to thank the developers forbasically stealing my money and ruining an awesome game.
Needless to say, I will be cancelling my account sometime this month.
Thank you for taking the time for reading this angry former SWG player's rant.
can i have your stuff?
If people would stop taking advantage of situations...ala "grenade-grinding", these things wouldn't happen.
However, since human nature means the worst of everyone will come out at every available opportunity, it means the Dev's have to fix what is broken.
Granted, instead of nerfing combat xp, they could have made a Grenade xp that turns in at 30:1 like all other weapon xp's do, but it was just easier for them to change the ratio to combat xp than add a whole new xp and then changing Commando so that Grenade xp is required for a branch....
In other words, the way people were abusing combat xp was an unintended thing and the Dev's moved to fix the problem. You weren't intended to be able to get 6k in 3:1 combat xp by throwing grenades at critters while other group members killed them with other weapons that were only 30:1 xp.

Especially if the Devs were unhappy at the rate at which people were getting Jedi even with 30:1 for other weapons.
Remember post-CU, we've been able to get full XP for a critter that we hit only once. That allows us to get much faster than the old system where we'd have had to share the full xp with the group based on how much damage we did.
Combine that with a 3:1 combat XP conversion and I suspect the path to Jedi was far quicker than intended.
They COULD have just changed the type of XP grenades gave, but that would have done nothing to slow down the non-naders out there grinding in groups like mad. Changing the combat XP conversion does both in one fell swoop.
