You know what jedi is a hard grinding thing and if u get it like me ull love it but SWG or starwars isnt based on Jedi at all. Starwars is based on near future and relegion. All sith are is a relegious cult and the jedi is like catholics and sith is satan lovers. If u read sights obi-wan and luke arnt why people wanted to see the movies. If u see most Starwar Sights Han Solo is the most liked character. Fs is a good thing to have and u should all be glad u have it. Stop bitching and go grind it out. U dont have to become a jedi u can also get all of Combat Prowess and Ehanced Reflexes on Melee and Ranged and ud get those mods and they wil increase ur stats on a proffesion, u just dont have to become a jedi.

i doubt in RL han solo is more popular than vader or luke. your post had nothing to do with the original post.

the original post said they wanted it to be more enjoyable, because a VIDEO GAME IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN. getting jedi and grinding jedi just isnt. the OP and me agree that grinding should exist but much less and should be more story oriented

Wh is the most popular character?

Why do people pay to play a MMORPG but not want to interact with other people?
Why, SOELA, why? Did the entire management join a cult, and at the same time perform home lobotomies?
It takes less time to look at the stickies than to ask a question and wait for sarcastic replies. So please oh PLEASE ask the same question many times. I enjoy the sarcastic remarks.

Sorry to bust your nuts man, but if you're aiming at Jedi on SWG because you wanna have fun you're in for dissapointment before amusement. At least 90% of Jedi from the time you hit Initiate is swinging around a weak flashlight hoping to some day be capable of swinging around a stronger flashlight. I don't even wanna get into the current crystal/pearl situation as far as making strong sabers in concerned either >_>. Don't take what I've said too deeply though. Despite all that, Jedi is still a refreshing change from normal gameplay, strong at finished template, and will hopefully be well worth using once they fix and reimplement the FRS. *crosses fingers for a better FRS*

As for people who take offense at the suggestiong that they play another game...

Yes, you're paying SOE, and we all expect a working product that functions as it should. (though some days, I think of /bug reports as something of a treasure hunt more than an annoyance). But you also need the viewpoint that you're paying SOE for SOE's product.

Look, if someone goes to an Indian restaurant and the place doesn't have curry chicken, shame on the restaurant. But someone wants a burrito (beans, pinto beans, and a couple tortillas on the side, por favor) and goes to a an indian chaat house, that person is a moron if they complain...

Well SWG is the only DINER in town with JEDI on the menu. Sadly you got to work in the kitchen for 3-6 months and quit your really good job just to afford it...

Oh sure you can do FastFood and pick KOTOR, but you'll have it finished by the time you get home. Then an hour later you'll just be hungry all over again. KOTOR/JA just aren't filling.

So we keep going back to the DINER, hoping the Chef will figure it out and we complainlikethe deviluntil they do!

We just want to eat and feel sated after! Right now I am pretty blasted tired of fast food and appetizers!

IGN - Karo,

You are completely wrong. Walwyn has it exactly correct. This isn't what we thought we were buying. Franklyafter the firstsix months in the game I gave up the idea of ever becoming a Jedi, I make Vehicle/Starships and have always planned to be a Crafter first and Jedi hopeful second. When I first got the game I expected to become a Jedi in a reasonable amount of time. Reasonable is less than a year. It's two years now. Mind you I haven't tried. I have never had greater then Pistol 3 from the Marksman tree. Walwyn and the countless people I know all seem to agree though. You are a in the minority by far. Even people I know who still enjoy the game feel the same way as Walwyn, that we have all been lied to. As a crafter I can tell you there are still countless bugs that have been around since day two.

Wrong? I don't think so. The majority of people who want jedi are not complaining, they are doing it. You are the minority. Don't believe me? Take a look at the people complaining about getting jedi, and compare that to the Jedi forum FULL of people who actually did it.

I will unlock my jedi within 6 months of playing the game, and I grind only a few days per phase to bank the XP. Is it boring to grind? Absolutely. It is hard or impossible to get jedi? Absolutely not.The road tojedi is meant to be something you work at, something that takes time, so at the end of your journey you feel a sense of accomplishment.

Will I tell you to go play another game? No. I encourage you, and anyone else to give it a try, it's not as bad as it may seem.

Took me from the village publish release date till a couple of weeks ago to do it casually (job/house/kids etc etc). Some of it was dull but I don't do dull very well so most of it was having fun ...playing the game. Stick at it and play the game is my advice and you will get there eventually.

For me the journey isjust asimportantas the destination ...

I think i'm starting to see where you guys are coming from. Getting jedi really is an incredibly boring and tedious waste of time in the current system. Basically grinding for grinding's sake with no real challenge or inherent fun. That is, IF all you do in the game is grind, grind, grind. I've never played like that so i guess that's why i don't see the village grind as a chore, but more as a bonus to my regular playing.

jcecil,

What the name of the Game? Star Wars.

Who are the main characters in every Star Wars Movie? Jedi.

What is the primary selling point to those millions of fans? Being like the main characters in the movie, JEDI.

Now beyond all that. I have been involved off and on with this game since Beta. During the Jedi Revamp, which I like to call the BIG LIE, the Developers said with no ambiguity that the new system would be quest based with considerably less GRIND. They said thatin Stratics IRC interviews, they posted itto their Website, they said it everywhere they could.

They wanted everyone to THINK they actually listened and/or cared what we think so we'd continue to give them their $15.00 per month. We did. We believed them. We were ignorant that's for sure. We should have taken a long hard look at the sheer vastness of the bugs that were still in place at the time. We should have remembered during the closing weeks of Beta how we begged them to wait, because it wasn't ready. We should have remembered being UNABLE TO LOG IN on opening day because they didn't have enough Log In capacity.

We forgot all that because we all longed to be just like LUKE SKYWALKER, OBI WAN KENOBI or even DARTH VADAR.

Yes some people wanted to be like Boba Fett or Han Solo, but come on. Let's be honest for a change, unlike the Dev staff, the by far grandest majority of subscribers came for one big reason, JEDI...

To think any other reason made this game so popular early on is delude ones self greatly.

STAR WARS = JEDI. Period. Everything else is supporting cast and FLUFF. No more.

Now once people stopped believing hoping, they started quitting in HUGE numbers. So to keep Lucas off their lying backs they heaped SWG onto the StationPass and are paying Lucas out of the overall SOE coffers because this game isn't making money.

Jedi were main charecters but they were not the ONLY main charecters. This is Star Wars GALAXIES not Star Wars Jedi, Truth is there are plenty other aspects to this game other than Jedi. You have to work for something if you want it, if you didnt work for it would it be such a reward? And what is this game without the other charecters? Just like every other LA game where your only Jedi. This game has flavor you can be differant proffesions and has a player-base economey, it needs artsians, entertainers, scouts, medics, brawlers, and ranged to make it worthwile. If everyone was Jedi there would be no chefs for food. No armorsmiths for PSGs. No BHs to spice up the grind(which if your complaining about grinding FS its nothing wait till you have to grind a teir 4 box at 1.6 million xp only getting 1k xp per creature) No Dancers/Musicans to heal BF it would be a shell of the great game this is.
