I soloed him.

I grouped up with my at-st, and started shooting the crystals from 64 meters. (I was rifleman) After i finished the crystals, i used concealshot on all the lower level Sith at the base, so i only had mellichae and darktar (cant remember name) left. Then i started concealing mellichae, and it worked for 20 seconds, or so, then he started chasing me. I ran away from him, with my at-st caught between us. (couldent keep up with me). Then mellichae used some forcepower with areaattack, and hit my at-st. This made the at-st engage him, and i could start killing him while the at-st tanked. My at-st only had 2k ham left when he finally died, so this can be pretty dangerous for the at-st . At that point, i didnt really care, i just wanted to unlock.

Ive heard reports that if you use conceal shot on the green crystals, then the red ones, then take out the mobs, leaving mellichae to last... as long as you dont give any of them a bleed you shouldnt even agro them

i did it this way solo, no pets or other accounts, just a note tho, the crystals sometimes make a few siths spawn, so you may get some agro, also for the other named, i had him chase me out a few 100m then burst ran, since you dont need to kill him, he didnt come back to the camp which saved me some time kiteing him.

mellichae did agro me without a bleed after a while, but he gives up if you just run from him then come back and start over, takes a little while to do it this way, also im a master doc aswell as rifle or i couldent have done this since i did take a few hits from melli while kiteing him, if you take your time and make sure you have burst run or your bike out for when you need it this way is easy enough tho

lmao yes, he's still hard. there are tricks to making it easier, but if your expecting to charge in and fight him...

heh

Get a couple jedis to tank him tho, not much of an issue once the crystals are out of the way

So what do those people without Jedi friends do?

Can CL 80 non-Jedi people take care of this?

I hear a CL80 master rifleman has a chance to solo this. But if you arent, you can get some CL80 buddies to help.

Just make sure you've got a few people with you who've done it before, half the battle's knowing what you're doing (I've done Mel about 6 times now & I still can't remember which order to take the damn crystals out in!)

I helped someone do it post-cu for the first time the other week & we had a group of 6 with one jedi & one master doc, you gotta make sure ranged take out the crystals (I did all 4 with my rifleman) as apparently if melee hit em they bug. Best to have riflemen with you to snipe the sith & at least one jedi to tank mel. Take it slow, you don't want to aggro the whole mob on you, with a bit of tactics you can take the crystals down without drawing too much aggro from Mel & friends.

I've been in groups of 20 that have been wiped out on this mission & the other day was the smallest group I've ever done it in so it just goes to show the difference between charging in unprepared or going in with a well-organised group.

We have done this quest twice in the last couple of weeks for new Jedi in our PA.

We did this when it was bugged so it was a lot harder then.

The best way I can suggest for doing this is to get a rifleman, bh or commando to hit the GREEN CRYSTALS FIRST.. one at a time.

Destroy the crystals.. Everyone else kill the Sith NPCs but ONLY IF THEY AGGRO.

Then move around and if you can TAKE OUT THE RED CRYSTALS SECOND.

Mellichae is CR95. His apprentice Daktar is CR100.. A little misleading as Daktar is easy to kill.

Keep the person whos mission it is back and away from the aggro at the moment.

Once Mellichae is the only NPC left get the player to run in range.. Mellichae will say something in spatial to that player. This is the trigger that will ensure the player has the exit quest activated. There is also a chance that when Mellichae says something to that player he will respawn 7 or 8 further Sith Guards near his tent.

As for what people are saying about soloing or doing this w/o Jedi .. remember you cannot kite this guy. If you drag him too far from his waypoint he will turn around and walk back... and heal.

He does have the potential to one shot kill a non Jedi Defender.. Ive seen him hit for over 3500 but that is rare. When TKM Innate Armour is working a TKM with CoB active could survive the hit.

His usual hits are 1000-1500.

The best strategy is to get a friendly Jedi Defender to tank him.. Once he has aggro.. (use Dominate Mind) then everyone else can shoot him from range.

The player whos exit quest it is only need hit him ONCE... When he is dead that player should get a message and a waypoint to a Jedi Shrine.

Welcome to the life of a Jedi..
