No, you choose before you enter the mission what skill you want. You will never get two skills per phase. That would be a major money killer for SOE .

Ah if this is the same quest I think it is, I tried it during the beta. The one where they spawn just outside the village and everyone sat there camping for two hours waiting for them to spawn?

If it's that one. And there is a big group of people there dont forget you only need one hit for it to count, and let everyone else have a chance, we used our weakest weapons and cycled through through the targets firing one shot at each Sith, also if you need outlaws just shoot them not the others, and vice versa. That way everyone gets a fair chance to complete their mission. I should imagine after the first few days it will be a lot less crowded.

I think I'll go find a few good books ready for that wait.

not really, just get an elite group of players, a couple of riflemen, some TKMs, 1 or 2 comandos, a couple of swordsmen, 2-3 docs and a CM, should be fun to see what all these ppl can do at once

Hmmm. Guess I'm glad I have Master Pistoleer. Seems like this was made for Fan Shot.

Yup, I just finished this one last night, or at least the first part. You can unlock both trees, I believe, just not in the same night.

Fighting was easy: There was a group of 20 or so of us, with a few docs in the mix (myself included, but I was fighting). The spawn for the mobs is 1 hour, not two, which is enough time for you go get re-buffed, fix your mind, and relax a bit. While those of us who were going for fighting skills did our thing, the docs ran around healing like crazy. Best bet, make sure there's docs you can rescusitate you, you'll die a few times. Total fighting time was 20 minutes or so per spawn.

You only have to hit your target once to get credit, you don't have to kill them. What we did was the strongest players (commandos and such) would take out most of the NPC's HAM, then the melee guys would go in and finish them off. Doing it this way, I had the mission done in two spawns, less than three hours. Outlaws are mostly yellow, or low HAM red, while Pirates were a bit stronger. Throw some Thugs into the mix, and it was an interesting fight. The village is not safe during the spawns, so you can't run to a safe location.

I'm going back in a bit to do it again, for the second tree unlock. I'm Master Doc, and just shy of Master Fencer, and I was able to get in a good number of kills, just by playing smart. If you do it like we did (random group, wasn't even a guild thing), the guys with high-powered ranged weapons can do the heavy hitting, and get their credit for kills, while the up-close guys go in for the clean-up, and get equal credit.
