thought that luck gave more creds too, then i found out that devs implemented a all npcs drop creds to clear servers quicker. havent really noticed a difference. however i have heard that in testing that luck was giving much better loot. heard speculation that it was either accidentally broken as it went live, or turned off as being too poewrful.

IT does more then just lower the amount on trainers! Read the discription on the boxes. Each box will tell you what they do. For example, one of them i believe makes you look alligned to someone that you wouldnt normally be.

Or you could go here and find out for your self if your too lazy to log on

Thnx, i checked it a bit, I'm wondering if by lowering the price of the goods. They mean player vendors

If so that would be fantastic, also by what margin... 10% discount - ?

Ok, as i currently understand force persuasion all it does is decrease the cost of purchases from NPCs.

Now bearing in mind everyone going through force sensitive is pretty much past the point fo using NPC trainers, and that there are almost no other NPCs for whom a discount works (not even faction recruiters), this skill is pretty useless.

How about we change force persuasion which mitigates the effects of bad/negative faction when dealing with NPCs

(I'm making an assumation that faction values ACTUALLY have an effect on your interactions with NPCs!)

Level 1 - effective negative faction reduced by 10%, effective positive faction raised by 5%

Level 2 - effective negative faction reduced by 20%, effective positive faction raised by 10%

Level 3 - effective negative faction reduced by 30%, effective positive faction raised by 15%

Level 4 - effective negative faction reduced by 40%, effective positive faction raised by 20%

eg I'm at Nym's and I currently have 1000 Nym faction - at Level 4 this is treated as 1200 for dealing with those of Nym's faction

Or

I'm at Jabba's palace and my faction is currently -1000 - at level 4 this would be treated as -600

This amkes more sense than the current model - I'm just not sure how it would actually work outwith the faction system as it currently stands.

What'cha think?

I hear ya, just anything to make it less WORTHLESS.

some ideas :

Faction Points easier to get, Faction items easier to buy, Tickets cheaper, TEF's wear off faster, can heal overt people, something like that.

"These are not the droids you are looking for" sums up Persuasion for me

I've been told by a jedi with this tree that it makes hostile NPCs less likely to agro on you. So there probably is a mathematical function, as if you have -5k faction you will probably still be attacked, whereas if you have -1k faction you probably won't be (obviously numbers are different for "red dots" who will normally attack you unless you have at least +4k faction).

He was unable to quantify it, but said it definitely made a difference. I don't (and won't) have this line, so I can't confirm it.

I'm sure I've seen this somewhere, but I just can't find it now

What does force persuasion actually do for you? Is there a link where I could've looked this up? thanks.

Discounts on trainers. Instead of 1000 creds I payed 901 creds for surveying I in the artisan profession, with persuasion II. But senses is a hell of a grind

And maybe there are more benefits. I did not find any yet.

It is my understanding that you can do almost all of the factionb oriented quests save the themeparks I believe.

Persuade IV works like this: (My own experiance) I was on Dantooine hunting Huurton Stalkers. Unknowningly, I was near a Janta camp (they hate me) and while in the middle of 7 stalkers, 3 Jantas came and joined in on me. Unknowningly, there were some Imperial Stormies near by and came to my rescue thus I was able to survive and complete my mission. I was shocked because I'm an Covert Reb. This happened to me again on Tatooine but this time Two Tusken Raiders come to my aid.

Persuasion IV allows you to pursuade people to do things that they woundn't usually do. I love it. Thank you to the stormies that saved me a trip to the cloning center.
