No, she's crafting items and putting them into factories. Then I have her sit and do nothing while I play other characters during factory runs (on a laptop, screen facing me in case old man comes). My other two characters were standing in the middle of a field when the old man came, so I believe the shuttleport rumor is not true. Guess I can try it tonight though.

hmm have you tried bringing up your map with ctrl+m? like I said he wouldnt come within 100 meters of me, I found him on my overhead and chased him down. ^_^ It was a thought, I hope it works, as I don't like to think of anyone being broken =o(

MeciniaLua, This is not true. Or at least isn't always true. I became glowy, yes it said "you feel an inner glow the force is with you" or whatever, the night before pub 24. The next day i lost glowy, and it has now been 5 days and no visit from the old man. So while some people say that as long as you were glowy pre-pub 24 the old man will come, I can say this is not true for me.

It was about 10:30 EST, I think the servers go down about 6-7am. So for about 7 hours i was glowy before the patch.

What we know so far:

• People have lost Glowy even if they did not have Jabba or Corvette badges (you can get without)
  
  
  
  • this means that the removal of Jabba's palace is not directly related
  
  
  • this means the loss of the ability to get to the corvette was not directly related either


• People have lost Glowly even if they did not have the beginner quest badges
  
  
  
  • this means the loss of weight to these badges is not directly related


• You can still expect to get a visit (to go to the village) if you are not glowing but previously were (if you have not recieved a visit by now you probably were not glowly before the change) (also since it is more then 5 days since the patch the 3 day window is closing (but remember you do need to be out in the wild away from pc cities for it to happen))




• you also get to be beaten by the sith after the old man


• one report that a person who turned glowly just before the patch did not yet recieve a visit *this is one to keep watch on.


• If you were not glowly previous to the patch it is unlikely that you will get a visit until you are glowly(keep collecting those badges and playing the game (HAVE FUN)- itmost probably isa bug but it could be a new prerequiste)


• people have reached glowly status after pub 24


• You can do the exit quest when not glowing and get Jedi


• You can still convert xp at the village if you could before


• you can still train if you could before


• not a single Jedilost glowly status


• it happened when pub 24 when live


• old man does show up if you finish your 6th column


• people who were not glowly but did all the badges thatpreviously were required still do not glow and have not been visited by the old man for over 72 hours.


• It is not the date the account was created (so no it is not those with older accounts vs younger accounts)

what is not known:

• can you get the exit quest old man visit from the village


• what caused the loss?


• Why some people fell further then others with the same badges (Am at faint but have90% of thebadges in the game)?


• why one person who was glowly previous to the patch has not yet been visited

Speculations that have been raised:

• jabba's palace badge issue (provisionally disproved)


• corvettebadgeissue (provisionally disproved)


• beginner quest badges (provisionally disproved)


• exit quest change has been suggested (provisionally disproved)


• change ofprerequistes (???)


• bug with the system(this is most likely)

The current prerequistes that we had listed were from player testing of the badge and glowly system. The devs did not tell us at all how it was really done. It is possible that they added more steps but since Tiggs posted here asking what was upI do not believe that to be the case. It is more likely a bug. Eventually it will be fixed and you will get glowly. Take the time to go out and smell the proverbial "roses" in game. Have fun and cap all your experience caps. Do Missions, do the quests that are in game (no need to run through em at high speed)

Wouldn't be the first time Tiggs was unaware of changes made by the other developers.......

Also I don't have much faith in it being fixed anytime soon if it is a bug. After all realistically they have continually shown a reluctance to fix bugs for whatever reasons, we still have bugs from the beta of the game, from JtL, from RoTW, and from the CU that have not been addressed.

I would think that would have been adequate time for it to have locked in, I don't know .

Still no old man...

Just to confirm, I am doing the padawan trials right now and had lost glowy, so there's not much to worry about if you're doing village quests.

I cant get the Oldman to bless me with the first visit.

Started this alt on the path to FS a week ago. I have.

All of the location badges,
All of the race badges,
3 Master professions,
Gorax, Krayt, Katarn, 2 Warren, Nym's, Imperial Tp, All of the Kashyyyk badges.

I have been waiting 5-6 days now and nothing, ive tried shuttling around player cities and all the usual stuff with no success.
I have a strong sense of the force.

Its starting to really nark me, as im totally maxed on exp and want to start on the Village.

You will probably be waiting much longer then that. If you did not have glowly prepatch you will not see the old man until you are. if it is a bug then it will be fixed some time (but maybe not that fast) andif it is a change in prerequiste well you will be at it for a long time ^_^

i have gained a few more badges since i last wrote that.. if it is a pre-requisite change, then it could only be profession based as i have everything else now. Umm, i guess they could add in some specific quest that isnt included yet)
