I did the mission and got my plant when phase one came around for the second time. My wife did the mission and got hers just a few days before me. Her plant has produced five fruit, going on six. My plant has produced a whopping ZERO. It's now phase one again and I just don't know what else to do.
I've been online every day and taken care of the thing. It did very well through most of its life, but there was a period right after it went large that it just insisted on trying to die. The thing was practically suicidal and hated any levels I threw at it. It did stabilize eventually, though, and I've kept it in perfect condition with very slow growth for many weeks now. It just refuses to give fruit.
The plant is in a low-traffic, private house that only my wife and I enter a few times a day to craft or take care of the two plants. The levels it's happy with are wet and above normal. As I said, that keeps the plant in perfect condition with very slow growth (same rate as hers). Any more or less and it starts wilting.
So does this just happen? Are some plants meant to be barren? Is mine bugged? Am I possibly doing something wrong? I would just let the damn thing die now if it wasn't still such a nice decoration.

I don't know, since mine went to Large I haven't been able to get better growth than Wilting ... and worse, it's ALWAYS that, no feedback in either direction!

Believe me, I know the feeling! As soon as my plant turned large it tried to kill itself. I don't know what the lowest condition is before dead, but I bet it was pretty close at it's worst. Eventually it came around and now I can keep it perfect indefinitely. It just doesn't give fruit!

does the village phase has something to do with the water and nutrition requirement?i could almost swear that my large plant was doing slow growth on normal water & nutrition but when the village phase changes a few days ago it just gone into wilting on the same settings...

I don't think the phase changes affect our plants, but what do I know? My plant has lived through a few phases now and it still likes the same levels it did when it finally decided that life was worth living.

Sell it for 5 or 10 mil and return to playing the game instead of plant sitting -- that thing sucks

My plant succeeded in it's suicide today. RIP.
Once it was large, it just wasn't happy, no matter what I did. I tried keeping everything at normal levels, but alas, it is now just a stick in a pot.

Healing the Sick, Phase 1 quest. Unlocks Persuasion. You have to heal a total of 15 patients to get the plant.
And after reading this thread, I now feel that trading the plant I got from the quest in exchange for getting all the medicine to do the quest for free was the best deal I ever made.

I would just personally sell the darn thing as well. Those things are the most anoying things to keep care of I can think of. Its best just to move on and play the game instead of worrying about some plant all the time.

in this game, the longer you play, the less there is to do it seems so new=good for me

It's not like I'm sitting there taking care of the plant all the time. It's a low traffic house. I have to add food and water once a day and that's it. I just want to know why the damn thing isn't giving fruit like it should. The wife's sure is and we're using the same resources on both plants.
A stick in a pot might be kinda cool to have too.

My hats off to any who are lucky enought to have their large plant survive.
I went through every level of water keeping the nutrients constant and then started adjusting the nutrients with the water constant but had to store the plant before I found a non-wilting level.
Something needs to be DONE! Fix the Darn Plant!
