I completely disagree.

First things first. you do -NOT- need more xp for JEDI. the Village is at, for most professions, a 30:1 conversion ratio. Thats 30x the xp you really need. 30x!

Jedi xp you keep. you train new boxes, and you GET NEW SKILLS. Being jedi is FUN. Why? Its like any other profession. you gain skills as you go. novice ls you get a special, etc.. etc... the only ppl that hate the jedi grind are the people that want nothing more from their jedi than a TANK. Just like the docs that Tumble instead of heal.

You dont see the docs that heal ppl complaining, because they enjoy the service they provide. But you see all the Tumbler docs complaining about the "Crafting Tree"

if your looking for a tank, your going to HATE the jedi grind, so much work and so little reward. However, if your actually into Star Wars, you will LOVE jedi. The Village is BY FAR THE WORST PART ABOUT JEDI.

once you get that saber, its all good. 1 mill xp? Sure.. np. It might take a while to get it, but who cares, I have a saber.

People are too greedy to have fun with what they have.

The grind may be bad after you "Do" get jedi. But its a grind everyone that is on this board is triving for since they created their toon. I myself am looking forward to listening to the hum of my very first lightsaber because no other will ever sound as sweet as the first. I feel it is only a grind anyway if you choose to make it a grind. If your out killing things with a big cheesy "I have a lightsaber" grin on your face, the grind will be fine.

Bottom line, let people experience their dream of becoming a jedi, no matter how mundane they play.

yeah guys, the village grind may be hard and boring, but when u get through it, and feel the heat coming off of your LS. All the grinding thoughts u have been through or are about to go through, shoot out the window. Personal the first time i attack a little creature when i have a blade, im going to cheer and scream and jump around in my room. The jedi grind isnt as bad as the village grind as someone stated above. The village is 30x the normal about of xp needed. When your jedi there is no ration of conversion, u keep the xp, then train when u have enough. So if you think the village grind is hard, u are totally right, it is boring and lets face it, who really likes what the skills give you, and half of them are broken. When you are jedi and you train you get new specials, new moves...etc...its all good! so love jedi, dont worry about the jedi grind...you are doing with a saber!

You grind like 8 million FS xp, which is actually not solid xp, it's a ratio of actual xp gained in order to even get to grind on Jedi.

Grinding is not the issue - it's that you're grinding to grind. Why the hell would they put an absolutely insane (and yes, it's insane) grind just to let you GRIND a ton more?

Answer: to weed out those who see the obstacle and fail to overcome it.

Whining about the FS grind is totally acceptable. It's ridiculously tedious, and very very very (did I say VERY?) unrewarding. The benefits from the massive grind do not really pay off all the time and effort spent to gain "skills."

Now, once you get Jedi, you kill stuff and you're heading towardsa REAL goal - saberhit1, or spinattack2, or dervish, or some cool new force power, or the ability to heal yourself using the Force. Now THAT'S what I call a reward. Not +2 to Ranged Speed which is broken anyways, or +10 to Melee Speed when a TKM is speed capped anyhow (can't hit faster than once per second). You see that a box costs 200,000 Jedi xp, and you make 500xp per kill, but that xp is YOURS - no conversions, no obscure bonuses, you get new abilities and you feel rewarded for the grind. I vividly remember going to my Jedi trainer for the first time and thinking, "WOW - just like the old days, I get xp and I just learn - none of that stupid 30:1 or 10:1 garbage! The skill is mine!!!"

Massive grind + 30:1 or 10:1 xp ratios + endless 6000m rides to Aurillia = lame, lame boring FS grind

Massive grind + new Jedi skills + 1:1 xp ratio + NO MORE AURILLIA TRIPS +a freakin' lightsaber= REWARDING and FUN

I also enjoy the fact that not only did you quote a previous post by you, but gave yourself a pat on the back with the GOOD POINT bit - of course you think it's a good point, YOU WROTE IT.

How full of yourself can you get?

I think it's a 50/50 toss up on the guys who are going the nade grind, on if they'll finish a jedi template or not. they get their xp too cheaply for it to be a true barometer of the XP required, or maybe they know it all to well & that's why they switched to grenades.

I am sure it's been said before but pretend for a minute that 100% of the FS XP was gained through grenades, benefit of the doubt cause I think it's really 2 lairs... 3 lairs to cap your 300k combat, 45 GBN = 100k FS XP = roughly 3,300 GBN killed to complete FS & that's making you kill more GBN than you really do. Now the sans grenades grinder kills roughly 22,000 GBN. NOw maybe my guesstimation here is a little hookey but 22k GBN in the jedi grind would get roughly 2/3 of a jedi template, even more of a completed template if it's a single master.

Now here's where the whining comes in. Who in their right mind has the paitence to say I am gonna grind 2/3 or 3/4 of what is equal to a near complete jedi template... not receive a single active skill (all FS garbage is passive) to play with, no neat FS toy to use & NOT WHINE JUST A LITTLE.

I WILL WHINE ABOUT IT HERE ME CRY... but you darn tootin' better believe that I will get it done. that I & most of the other melee grinders out there (my guess is the majority of the "whiners") have the fortitude & that slight imbalance in the head to get it done.

After a lot of trips I found a decent path that has no trees to get you hung up on. My village days are over so maybe it's time to publish my treeless path. I'll work up the waypoints and posta threadlater.
