Thread: Get a life, the conversion changes don't really effect casual players

So you can't grind out a tree in one day anymore, they givea minimum of 21 real time days per phase, this phase is going on 22 on Friday, and for all you people that are whining can complaining about this, it is EASY to grind 100,000 Force-sensitive Combat or Reflexes a day. So, lets do the math, 21 * 100,000 = 2,100,000. Almost enough experience to master TWO branches. All you have to do is Cap experience on three weapon skills, not that hard, doesn't take that long. And for you slackers out there, it takes 1,225,000 Force-sensitive Experience to master a branch, and if you don't want to prepare for your next unlock, then all you need to do is grind out 58,333.333..... exp a day and in 21 days you will have the minimum it takes to master the branch when you open it. And thanks to the time limits on phases anyone that actually sits down and looks at it sees that the xp conversion changes that they are making DO NOT MATTER! If you CAN NOT grind 1,225,000 Force-sensitive Experience in 21 days, than you are doing something seriously wrong. Play 2-3 hours a day for 12-13 days and look you have enough experience to master your branch, with over a week to spare so you have plenty of time for which you can mess around and not grind so much, and so on and so forth. So instead of being a person that ground out ALL the exp asap and was only seen every three weeks or so to do a quest then log for a month, grind as you need it, you got plenty of time, than go enjoy the game, explore, do quests, follow the stories, get a life, and quit whining.

LOL

It does effect the casual player, it doesnt really effect the power gamer, I think you've got it backwards.

Me, I grind maybe 2 days a week, that's it, because it's GRINDING. When I do it, I was netting about 210k FS XP per grind session, cut that down to 140k FS XP per grind session, or 280k per week.

That's about 60 weeks for a casual player to do it, while also doing other things in game.

The folks who ground out a tree in a day did it with double XP days, and if not, well, that's what you call a power gamer, not a casual gamer, sorry you're confused.

In your mind, I'd be doing something wrong, since I cant do it. Why cant I ? I dont want to sit and kill bol's day after day, after day. That's pretty stupid to do for someone who has a life, and plays the game a few hours a day max, to have fun.

Sorry my life, and that of many others dont match your play schedule, sorry we appreciate other aspects of the game and choose not to waste our in game time doing something as mindless as killing thousands and thousands of bols a day, it's not fun. Do I want it bad enough ? Well....I do, but I have a real life job that pays money, why would I do something that is "work" in a game that I PAY to play ?

SOE had a chance and they blew it. Should have made the village quest based. Call it the Tier 3 of Space. Do 4 quests in a 3 weeks span, make them increasingly more difficult, and force folks to group up for the last few. It would have added content to the game, given no advantage to power gamers, allowed casual players to still do it as well. I'd bet an awful lot that folks would have enjoyed doing that, even if the last quest required a longer play session. Example would be the destroy the Avatar Platform type of thing. I know every 3 weeks I would have made time to do something that fun, and involved.

*shrug*

Yeah...I'll just spend the 36 hours ever 2 weeks with your schedule ! Glad I've got RL things to do......

Sorry, I should know better than feeding the trolls..

What the phrase ? Dont ever argue with..well, you know...they drag you down to their level, and whoop you with experience ! Shame on me for responding !

I agree, about the only being a grind if you make it one. I am looking forward to getting force sensitive and visiting the village. I pay for my account, therefor; I have a right to try out everything. I don't complain about the changes because I pay the monthly fee. If I ever get to the point where I no longer enjoy the game, I'll stop playing and cancel my account.

Yeah three hours of exping, twelve times in a 21 day period, real hard. And as for making it like space! That is an ever longer grind per box, yes you have a few missions to do, and then what do you do for MOST of the tier? GRIND in Duty missions. So, you'd rather have people have to bust their asses to do four progressively harder quests to unlock each box in the branch and THEN have to grind and grind on pointless missions to get the expierence to buy those boxes.... yeah... that's a LOT better than one quest to get the whole branch then grinding.

And you find that easier than 36 hours of grinding out of a minimum 504 hours? So wait, you sleep and work right? So that takes up 336 hours of it right there, and I'll even kick in another 5 hours a day for errands, etc. So 441 hours of the 21 day period are taken up witheight hours of sleep a night, eight hours of working each day, andfive hours of other things, still leaves three hours a day, guess what that still leaves 63 hours ina 21day period, subtract the 36 to master your branch, and that still leaves an extra 27 hours of time. Lets say your quest is a pain, takes seven hours to do, leaving you twenty hours of FREE time, after sleeping 8 hours a day, working 8 hours a day, 5 hours a day for whatever you wish, grind 3 hours, and you still end up with very little time over all grinding, and still almost an entire DAY of free time to add onto your sleeping, working and other things.

the only bitching I c see the Jedi haters out there thats sjould shut their traps. I've been here since beta and quit for awhile because of CU=downgrade, came back 2 weeks ago. I lost my other Jedi because of Hackers so i have to redo it all over again. 1 thing is us Veterans should've gotten a better deal but SOE doesnt care really about any1, and now i saw that their going to Nerf the Normal Group Xp lol so u guy should st fu.

It sure as h*ll does affect casual players, its effectivley cut the FS xp in 1/2 or doubled the number of trips to Dathormir for us. I normally only grind a few hours a week, and spend the remainder of the time I play doing fun stuff, to maintain the same rate of advancement in game the fun stuff has to be cut out to make my goals.

Mindless Grinding is NOT content. Keep the gated village phases, heck expand them to 4, 5 or 6 weeks to gate advancement, but let us have fun exploring what little content there is in the game in the downtime.

Actually thats a good idea, double conversion rates, and epand the phase length to 4 weeks, less grinding, but 24 weeks from FS to Paddy. Then you'll actually see people doing something besides grinding, maybe exploring Kashyyyk or adventuring in the Corvette or DwB.

It doesn't take twice as long, it still takes a minimum of 18 weeks. Changing the conversion rate doesn't make it take 36 weeks, it still takes, 18.

yeah its half as much fun now, not twice as long. Now instead of doing some grinding each day + helping friends, badge hunting, fighting in my Tie fighter, questing, loot hunting you get to do twice as much grinding and not much else.

18 weeks of so much grinding will reduce the number of new jedis but not because it takes longer but simply because so many more people will realise the game isn't fun to them anymore during this 18 week period.

It will take at least twice as long for us casual ppl and the devs knew that well, and now saw somewhere that they r Nerfing the Group Xp which will affect every1, not just us.

Plus some of us like me are thinking of not just unlocking 6 boxes but we need Terrain Negotiation if we dont have it and are thinking about Vehicle control just in case it might help. Soetimes i see VC is a lost cause and sometimes it is needful to.

And the cycles dont just last 3 weeks but longer like 31/2 to about a month.

As i said i have to redo the whole Jedi thing because mine got hacked so now im doing 2, thats 2 times the hell.

And i don't get some of these idiots that complain about unloicking 1 skill in 1 day, that could only at most be first box and others are exaggerating makeing us others look bad and i've been here since Beta i deserve my turn.
