Thread: How do you deal with those turrets?

Four people, including myself, were incapped and slain from over 200 meters away by the turrets near the bases. They hit me 10 times in one second for 550 damage a shot. How exactly are you supposed to deal with these?

err i dont think u shoot them, i think that u disbale them but hey dont ask me i never did it.

Well then, does anyone know how to disable them? Because I can't even approach the base without being slaughtered.

(EDIT: I didn't shoot them, by the way. They just killed us all before we even got close to the base.)

You're suppose to shoot em, but it seems you're having the same problem a friend of mine was having and took a base with bugged turrets. Only thing I can recommend is to try a different base

you shoot the turrets and then a bio engineer sets the self destruct on the base.

All you have to do is worry about getting the commander out and back to the village. You dont have to destroy the turrets. It may be HARDER than it was pre-cu, but you just have to rush in the compound after the front guards despawn, after you've killed the 5 for the quest.(unless they changed it..)

Bio-Engineer?, Self-destruct?, what are you talking about? I hope this is a joke post, otherwise you're just confusing people on an already confusing quest.

Whether you technically HAVE to or not, i can't imagine any scenario in which leaving the turrets firing on you're party is a good thing. The fact is, the turrets are bugged, and if you can't destroy them without being killed, you can't do the mission. It's a glitch, that's not the way it's supposed to be. The turrets should shoot you at around 100m for about 500 (depends on your temp), if you're getting instantly incapped, wait for it to be fixed or find a Jedi Master Defender(maybe).

Interestingly, this is not occuring on my server (except they can hit you 1000m away, but only once you get within 100m to get them started). So it's still quite doable on some servers. Sorry to those who can't.

We had a Jedi draw the fire of the turrets while the BHs or Riflemans take them out. Or we would have the Jedi, Docs, or CMs make sure the BHs are healed while they take the turrets out. Once the turrets are taken out it's fairly easy. Pre-CU the Sith Thugs were harder and the turrets would go down easily. Post-CU the Sith aren't that hard but the turrets kill you as far as 400m away. I'd get killed from a Force Shrine 400m away like 5 times, before I finally decided to go to the Science Outpost.

I think he's talking about Faction Bases. The Sith bases are totally different.

You can use droids to destroy the turrets without getting anybody killed! Or you can have some Jedi use saberthrow on them!

That driod trick doesnt work as of Pub 20, it was a exploit afterall. We all agree it's a bugged bunch of circumstances, but its beatable, with friends, backup, and timing. Otherwise, wait tillnext Phase 3, they're doing them one ahead of what there at, the polish fix passaround. And, Armor is your friend.
