I've been reading and talking to people about using nades for the FS grind.... Im a 3000 commando and gonna get the fourth box today and I was wondering why people use imp dets instead of Thermals....Is there any great difference between the two or is it just people like the imps better?

OMFG, quit with the "nerf gernades" (which as you may or may not know is spelled grenades, with the "r" before the "e")argument and answear his damned question.
i do not know the answear to the question, because i use proton grenades (yes, with the "r" before the "e")

There was a previous post where a guy did some experimenting between imp dets and thermal, he found that the imps dets were better to use based upon damage and cost against giant baz nitches. I won't argue since I bought all my crates of dets for 80k a piece where as the thermals and protons go for much more. I have seen protons for 118k a crate.

Imp nades are not better then thermal's. If you examine imp's they have higher damage but thermal's are AP2 so thermals in all actuality when they hit will have higher damage due to the AP2.

Use Imps, they are cheaper and alot better than Therms. And think about it AP2, I think it will hurt you alot more as well, factoring in Armor.

Depends on your server. I charge more for imp detonators than Thermals because Imp det take more of good steel than Thermals (but thermals use soem rare resources).
Thermals do a little more damage than imps against creatures that have blast resists (only get AP damage bonus when creature has resists against that damage type). But against blast vulnerable creatures Ims are much better.
Thermals also have a larger blast radius

I'm master pike/comanndo 4xxx and I don't see any problem with this unless my armor is toast...which you have to pay attention to.
