Thread: How realistic is it to hope for a Double XP week?

Forgive me if it's a stupid question, I've been fs grinding for about 2 weeks now. I know I think it would give me more hope of someday unlocking my Jedi. I am a casual player for sure and there's no way Id get all the XP I need, but I would get more than I have now. (about 580k fs xp)
I've been playing the game for about 19 months now and I just recently went glowy without trying.
(I just happened to visit the temple on dant in a groupand BAM!I felt a surge of the force.) It inspired me to go for jedi.
I've observed thatyou people in these forums have more manners than they inthe pilot forums.

Well, it's not very realistic to hope for it really. Already given us like 3 of them.. lol

If you hack all servers so that they stay down for 2-3 days it will happen 
Double XP is SOE`s way of "buying" them selfs out of problems that could lead to then having to pay back monthly fees

Well they were considering nerfing group xp, they just nerfed teh FS trade in. I think that points clearly to them wanting to slow down the conversion of all charceters to jedi, thus a double xp week in the near future probably isn't too likely.

I think the only way they'll do double XP again is if they make a MAJOR change (like the CU) or seriously break something causing the servers to be down for a couple of days and/or a rollback like Chimaera/Bloodfin had. So it's certainly not out of the question, but I wouldn't expect to see it anytime soon. MAYBE during the next expansion, but only if something goes wrong. I agree with the previous poster - they just changed thecombat XP conversion rate to slow down grinding, they were talking about nerfing group XP, so I doubt they'll do anything to make the grind any easier. It's really just their get out of jail free card...
But think about it... You said you've been grinding for 2 weeks and have 580k FS XP. That's a rate of 290k FS XP per week (which is pretty good, especially with the combat XP conversion change). You need 7.45 million FS XP to finish. If you can keep up the rate of 290k FS XP per week, you can finish in just under 26 weeks, which is 6 months. That's not that bad, and honestly if you think it is, you might want to consider another path since the grind to a full template Jedi is even longer.

It is something SOE does when they have messed something up. It is their way of saying, 'We're sorry.' I guess it would take another 'oops' on their part. It is not out of the question.

Yeah, the FS conversion was a big oops... yeah, I should've been done by October, but I'll be lucky to finish by September.

Flurry was down for 24hours, we got double xp for 2 days after that. Also you could hope for a rollback, one server was rolled back 4 days (someone forgot to change the back up tape!) and they got 4 times XP for a week.

There is no way the devs would undo all the nerfing by giving us double xp again. Maybe you don;t want Jedi badly enough.

Well, I don't mind the grinding, really, I've grinded Rifleman, MBH, TKM, and 2 Pilot professions. I know thats not even comparable to the fs/jedi grind, but I'm saying that I'm no stranger to the grind.
Grinding can even be fun in groups, I've made lots of friends that way. It just seems that there could be other ways of thinning the Jedi Population. Most people I know didn't give up, it's just taking longer to get. In the end, you get the same number of jedi.
