After doing many searches and sorting through lots of heresey on the subject, I'm hoping to hear from some players who actually have the persuasion or luck lines completed. It's come down to a decision of either of those trees for my 6th skill.
As it stands now, I already have the skills considered more useful for jedi (Melee acc, melee speed, ranged defense, melee defense, survival), in case you were wondering why Im choosing between these two. Ive heard good and bad about both skills. I saw a picture of someone in the persuasion line telling a stormtrooper not to search them (like a mind trick), and if this works Im definately taking persuasion. Ive also read opinions on the luck line that were real varied... some say it does nothing and other say its a loot bonanza (I wouldnt mind actually getting something from krayts-like a pearl-for once). For me they are both feasable, even though I have to wait longer if I take luck (then again the sense xp is moving so slow it might take a while anyway haha)
Well, anyone that cares to speak from experience on the subject I would greatly appreciate your input. Id like to know whether these skills have worked for you or not and what they have done.
Thanks

Not yet, mainly because no one knows what they do.

Hmmm I should take this as a sign that these arent popular skills?

Persuasion:
It lowers the cost of training, yes, but other aspects are helpful. I don't get searched by stormtroopers nearly as much. As an Imp, I can get Reb NPCs fight for me. An example, I was killing some Mokks at the stronghold and hit a Rockshaper to which I cannot do any dmg to. While trying to get her off my butt, I saw some rebel NPCs standing nearby. I drug her over to them and they started whacking at her. Rebs....fighting for an Imp... Was great to see! LOL Also, I can often walk through Reb NPCs while I have a TEF and they don't do anything to me *hehe* Unless I shoot first. Hope this helps

Very cool! Is that a stand-alone effect of Persuasion, or do you have the Force Powers skill, Jedi Mind Tricks?

I have both, but I can't comment on Luck since I got it about the same time the loot revamps started. I SEEM to think I get more, but I can't be sure.
As for persuasion, it's great. I used to get made overt every time I was scanned, now they always say "move along". Any factional NPC will help me if I'm in combat near them, including Imps, Rebs, and even Nym's elite when I'm at the Canyon Corsairs. Also, a 20% reduction in training is nice for when you're grinding and need to switch to Doc/Commando whatever. While the price break is the most mentioned, it's the least useful of the abilities.
I'd say persuasion is a great line, and since it's phase 1, you have it coming right up, so less waiting.
cheers

I chose Persuasion thinking it'd mind trick Stormtroopers for crackdown, but I am still searched constantly and that doesnt make sense because I am nearly a Rebel Knight...

I can solve all your problems..... Join the imperial army so the stormies will leave ya alone and get LUCK.

It doesn't work. Stormies still hassle you (fining you for carrying spice or having sliced items) until you reach a certain rank. But at that point you get to slap them around.

Since the loot revamp (where they fixed luck)
When I have looted an attachment it has never been blow +4 and from something like corsair captains the lowest was a single +5 and I looted 4 +10 and above over the last week.
Either my rolls are extremely lucky or luck is in fact working

The Jedi Mind Trick on the Stormtroopers is an innate ability that all Jedi had before Publish 9. Then it got broken with Publish 9. Now it is being fixed again.
You won't have to have the Persuasion line or "jedi mind trick" skill in Force Powers in order to use it.
There is no command necessary to initiate the mind trick on the stormtrooper - you simply say automatically "Don't search me." Then, the ST will leave you alone.
Both Persuasion and Luck are pretty much a guess as to how well they benefit you. Since you can't "turn off" persuasion or luck, you've no true means of a control to see their direct effects, so it's hard to see what it really does for you.
I didn't take either, because I didn't think they'd help my Jedi very much, and I wasn't interested in grinding non-combat xp. I think they sound very Jedi-like, but I question what they actually do or are intended to do in this game.

My own personal experience with luck/persuasion are unique to me, but it feels like I'm playing the game with "rose tinted spectacles" on.
I seem to do more damage in combat, don't get deathblowed any where near as much after incaps, my bank balance went from floating around 2 million to hitting 20 million in two weeks, the krayt pearls I looted seemed to have higher conditions and tune better when given to Jedi, I get hassled less by ST's, stumble across better stuff... the list goes on.
Guess it either works or I just got real lucky.
