How are people these days? It has been about three weeks from launch and things are starting (IMHO) to settle down some, prices have sorta found their niche for the next few weeks most likely and merchents have either sunk or floated. Now i belive that those of us who made it will probably be the only ones to really be able to stay afloat until this horribly broken class is fixed. Well back to topic, how is every surviving? Are sales good for people? No Armor/Weapon-smiths need reply *insert laughter here*

Im a pure merchant and things are going roughly well. I selected spots out of urban areas where players gather for xping and doing missions. Then i tried to bring them what they needed in those secluded areas. My margin on those spots is higher, as i bring them what they need where they need it.

I m on Kauri, and artisans advancement there is not as developped as on the non language destinated servers. So each time my providers make a break through into a new trendy technology, my income grows fast..and then slows down whent the novelty effect fades.

I think merchant is a viable profession if you can bring added value. The added values we can bring are :

Choice/diversity : avoiding customers to have to run to different shops to find what they are looking for

Proximity : bring what they need where they need it

Animation : do not hesitate to create events in your shops...like hiring dancers and musicians near a xping camp to heal battle fatique, organise lotteries, wooky brawler duels, beauty contests etc etc

Sympathy/advise : unlike some artisans that concentrate so much on their activity that cant answer customers questions, answering questions and advising should take a good part of our time. We learn much discussing with our providers, we should share our knowledge with customers.

Of course if SOE decided to give our skill tree any REAL advantage, it would help us get more people and as a matter of fact more weight...but untill then, we have to rely on our own human skills to make a living.

I forgot to mention that bugs eat a noticable part of our margin (unretrievable items) and turnover (distrust from customers for npc vendors, unability to use the bazaar with items stuck in the backroom). Once those bugs are solved, we will be able to really start to be profitable.

I have been pretty lucky with my NPC vendors so far no serious problems with un retrievable merchandise that I am aware of. Sometimes they get lonely and want me to stick around a while so they make me wait on my items, but other than that it has been ok.

I have had success by selling a very diverse stock of items. Really things from almost every category. I have made some relationships with crafters to sell their merchandise through me (not nearly enough because everyone is running their own vendor) I make a small profit each day (even considering my 10k per day harvester habit which I realize is a trivial amount for serioius miners)

I am actively working on business relationships which bring more and better items into my store. When some of the bugs are fixed and maybe even an enhancement or two to the profession it should be even better being a merchant. I know that this profession is one of the best for building a relationship with the others in your SWG community. I am the local shopkeeper and I get questions from just about everyone I meet. (Have you ever seen a...., Is this a good price for .....)

If you mean when Whip refers to the Sith base, no, this spawns at or near a wp. Read the FS sticky it has good info.

Which template would ensure my template to survive when attack by bh? Can someone give me some advice on the current template that I have.

1) Master LS/ 2002enh / 2100healer / 0020defender

or

2)0404 LS/ 4002 enh / 3200 healer / 2140 defender

or

3) 0040 LS/ 0002 enh / 2000 healer / Master defender

Thanks in advance for answering my question.

You say survive, do you mean kill him or escape?

If you want to survive through avoidance get Stasis and Advanced Force Run from Master Enhancer.Add in x4xx from Powers and you can cloak, and since you already have channel you can sit down and relax and watch him get all frustrated.

If you want to kill him get Master Defender (sorry to say it), at least 4xxx Healer, and buy yourself an Advanced Laser Rifle.

Sad but true.

There are a thousand other ways to do it... but they all start with: "Learn your template and outplay the BH(s)."

I meant both. If I was attack, either way is to run and the other is to stay and duke it out, so with the template I mentioned. Any Chances?

I would say of the options given, make this change:

3) 0040 LS/ 0002 enh / 2000 healer / Master defender
3) 0400 LS/ 0002 enh / 2000 healer / Master defender

Improved Saber Armor Break is worth more than about any other LS skill.

I see you have much grinding to do, so I am assuming you are asking for a fast grinding template that gives you options. Without being able to flee you need to stand and fight. You will have to keep Force Wave and Improved Saber Armor Break on him and if you get rooted out of range you seriously need to have an Advanced Laser Rifle or the like handy on a toolbar (you can easilyControl-K to do the basic ranged attack until you can get back into saber range) so you can at least do something to him while you wait for the root to break.

This being sad I re-emphasize: There are a thousand ways to do it. You need to pick what appeals to your style.

As a BH, the most annoying thing a Jedi can do is spam healing. So pick a template that emphasizes healing powers.
