Some may have gotten this problem:
You get to the camp with the Siths, kill them and boom... a tree spawns on top of the villager, that you suppose to rescue.
Not funny. Coz the guy who is trapped wont talk to you.. maybe he just cant hear you
Solutions:
- Make a camp, or get someone to make one for you, near the tree hes trapped in - makes the three de-spawn.
- Get incapacitated - will give you a "mission failed" message and you can get a new WP. (Thanks Hoenir)
Have fun.
EDIT: spell check and new solution.

You can try bringing a mob over and see if it "activates" him. There's a trick I use is if a Sith NPC I have to kill is stuck in rock or tree - I get a random mob from nearby, aggro it, train it back to where the stuck NPC is, and hit the mob w/ an AoE. The AoE "penetrates" the terrain and hits the NPC causing him to initiate combat and leave his spot.

I didn't mean atack the prisoner, but maybe by bringing a mob to him he'll engage in combat w/ the mob and move from his stuck spot. When I do the AoE near a stuck NPC mob, it seems as if the code "wakes" him up. Since you can't "reach through" the object, using something like acamp or AoE can get around that barrier. Maybe by doing something similar this will cause the prisoner mob to "awaken".

if u die it should fail and u can start over
actually you don't even have to die, just become incapacitated.
I discovered this when I went out to see if I could do the quest unbuffed. The Siths incapped me, and I got a message saying something to the effect of "Your incapacitation has caused you to fail this quest", despite the fact that I hit Force of Will and stood right back up.
so just go back to the village, duel a friend, and have them incap you. ![]()
