Can they not think of a way to PRO long the quest? Going from phase 4 back to phase 1 is kind of dumb. Make it interesting SOE! Nothing exciting happened with phase 1-4. The only thing SEMI cool were the sith raids. But thats it...

The reason the quests loop around is primarily because the quests do not truly end until you recieve a visit from the old man again and he gives you the exit quest.

well what is your suggestion then? I think the easy thing about posting on these boards is that you can say things stink , and things are dumb and just leave it at that, but that, in no way makes your point valid. instead of complaining, come up with an alternative, some ideas have been implemented b/c of overwelhming support. If you ask me about the Village quest, i think it was a great way to perpetuate the loop for future players who were going to unlock at different times. But since most people on the village from here on out are not going to have any free unlocks, i wonder why the devs could not have made the phases into 6 instead of 4. that way, everyone will be able to do 6 different missions, instead of having to repeat 2. I think that would have made more sense since the magic number of unlocks is 6, therefore it would have been nice to have matched it with 6 different phases.

The phases are fine the way they are. There is a devastation, a rebuilding, more building and then finaly another devistation. A natural circle of events that can contiune on until you, the player, reach the point for the exit quest. This phase system dosent need to be flashy or overly complicated!
The phase set up is to keep players from attaining Jedi too quickly, hence the gating.

I'm quite comfortable with the sytem as it is though I could have wished for six phases instead of only 4. The reason is that some of the FS skill trees I want/need are in the same phase and in some phases, mainly phases one, I've already got the one FS tree I want. This means I'd have to wait at least an extra 3 weeks to embark on the final quest. A little annoying, but I'm in no rush to become Jedi.
Ps. it'll take at least some 24 weeks for me to attain Jedihood in the current system and I don't nadegrind ^^

6 phases would make sense if each and every player wanted to do exactlyone branch from each phase -- if you picked a template of 6 branches, with one branch available in each of the phases, instead of individual branches. The way it stands, players have the choice of whichbranches to pick(a good thing). What if you wanted to do 2 branches from a single phase of the 6? Now you're waitinga month and a halffor the phase to come back and be available to train.
4 phases makes as muchsense as anything IMO. The way it is organized, the majority of players will choose one branch in each of the 4 phases, with only a minority choosing to skip a phase because of their chosen FS template. 6 phases is6 phases. I don't quite understand the comment about having to repeat a quest, very few branches (only Ranged Speed and Melee Defence in Phase 4 I think?) have the same quest for both. When you come back to a phase, chances are you won't be repeating a quest. The backstory will repeat itself, but I don't see how that can be avoided. Think of it this way .. after Phase 4 the Sith regroup and try again..?
How would other players ever complete -- even start --the village if it never came back to Phase 1?

I for one just entered the village 2 days ago and I'm glad I'll get to see all the phases.
I guess they should have as many phases as needed to get people out of the village.
So, if you can only do one quest/branch per phase, wouldn't they need 6 phases? One for each branch?

What if you did a quest within the tree type and got to choose your skill for every phaze?
And don't tell me that they are connected already, what does healing have to do with persuation.
Many people has to skip a phaze in this system to get their template..

And thats what the devs wanted, time. They don't want 1000's of Jedi running around, they want it spaced out. Long and dull. Some will drop out, thats fine.
I started the grind with the original phase 1, and needed two skills from phase 3, so I'm just waiting now.
